My name is Erica Lee. I ran for Congress in my hometown, Sacramento. I recently ended my campaign as a working class renter due to MONEY, time, and political gatekeeping, to name just a few reasons.

As an experienced campaign operative with experience working in DC on Capitol Hill, I intend to speak openly about the Democratic establishment and how it keeps grassroots candidates down, the "endorsement Olympics," the fundraising, and more.

  • 8/5/26: EXPLOSIVE Democratic Party of Sacramento County Executive Board Meeting (Recording)
    2026/08/06

I attended a Democratic Party of Sacramento County (DPSC) Board meeting on Monday, August 3, 2026, as the complainant in a sexism and retaliation complaint I filed against Ric Barreto for accusing a local county supervisor candidate of being a Republican as a reason to not support her while he stumped for and donated $1,000 to a House candidate who is a former Republican.

I recorded Vice Chair Dan Weitzman have a meltdown over the fact he didn't complete a form to be considered for the the endorsement committee and throw his weight around money-wise, threatening to stop donating if he doesn't get to use his influence on the endorsement committee to endorse candidates he also works for fundraising. Hear no one on the Board tell him to stop yelling at Kerri West, the campaign services director. Hear Bruce Pomer kiss his ass. Hear Kerri West then apologize profusely for not considering all the money he's donated even though he doesn't canvass and doesn't follow the rules for applying for the endorsement committee. Just hear Dan Weitzman whine. And hear Chair Andres Ramos have absolutely no control over the meeting.

The DPSC in its current form needs to be torched. There is no repairing this.

  • 3/24/26: Cake (Band) Fundraises for Progressive Challengers and Doris Matsui Lies in SFGate Article
    2026/03/24

Here is the SFGate article I reference in this episode.

Cake, from Sacramento, held a fundraiser before their Sunday night concert for both Mai Vang and Effie Phillips Staley (who is from Sacramento but running for Congress in New York where she's been living against Republican Mike Lawler). Note though that in California, we have jungle primaries where the top two vote getters will advance, but in New York, they still have Democratic primaries.

I also go through this article line by line and also reference Elk Grove vice mayor Darren Suen trying to convince me Doris Matsui is the better candidate in the race for spurious reasons.
