Was the Hygromanteia the first demon summoning manual?

In this episode of Discovrse, Abammon and Dr. Stone examine one of the most important Solomonic grimoires in the Western Esoteric Tradition: The Hygromanteia of Solomon.

Rather than treating it as a simple handbook of spirit conjuration, we read it as a Byzantine synthesis document: a Christian ritual framework built on late antique Greco-Egyptian magic, Arabic astrological and talismanic material, and the universal authority of King Solomon.

We explore the title as an esoteric key, the strange incompleteness of the text, the missing herbs, stones, lunar mansion images, and spirits, and why those gaps may be intentional. The Hygromanteia appears less like a beginner’s manual and more like an initiatory outline for someone already trained enough to reconstruct the operation.
