Ancient altars provided a connecting link between God and His people, facilitating powerful visitations, rich revelations, and miraculous manifestations. Abundant proof can be found in Scripture where major expressions of supernatural power accompanied altar worship for Able, Noah, Abraham and others. Joel 1:13 refers to priests in the Old Testament as ministers of the altar. All who qualify as priests in the New Testament now bear this title. Our altar is much different, but it is still a primary key in connecting with God.
