Hello and welcome to Die Welt der Mikroben – The World of Microbes, the podcast that takes you on a journey into the tiny, unseen worlds that shape our planet. This podcast is brought to you by the Cluster of Excellence “Microbiomes Drive Planetary Health”. This Cluster of Excellence began in October 2023 and is funded with a total of 35 million euros from the FWF Excellence Initiative for an initial period of five years. The project brings together top microbiome researchers from eight leading research institutions across Austria. Led by Director Michael Wagner from the University of Vienna and Deputy Director Christine Moissl-Eichinger from the Medical University of Graz, we unite expertise from diverse fields—ranging from the human microbiome to global change microbiology—to unlock the potential of these microscopic communities for the health of our planet. Hallo und herzlich willkommen bei Die Welt der Mikroben – The World of Microbes, dem Podcast, der Sie auf eine Reise mitnimmt, in die winzigen, unsichtbaren Welten, die unseren Planeten formen. Dieser Podcast wird Ihnen vom Exzellenzcluster „Microbiomes Drive Planetary Health“ präsentiert. Dieser Exzellenzcluster startete im Oktober 2023 und wird mit insgesamt 35 Millionen Euro aus der FWF-Exzellenzinitiative für eine erste Laufzeit von fünf Jahren gefördert.
