Georgios is a German with Greek heritage. He gave insight on what it's like growing up in Germany with a mix of two languages and cultures. His parents moved to Germany from Greece to work. After some years in Germany, they moved the family back to Greece. Life in Greece didn’t go as planned, after selling everything to move to Greece, they found themselves moving the family back to Germany. Georgios talks about how connection with people is essential in finding a sense of belonging. For him, this means using language, even if it’s not perfect.

Megan is a marketing strategist, content creator, copywriter and make-up artist. We talked about what it took to move to Germany on her own as a creative on a freelance visa. This includes the money she needed to have available to get her visa approved, the vision for what she wanted to achieve in Germany and her determination which stemmed from the what she accomplished in her career in Los Angeles.

Franz moved from Guatemala to Germany to study for his Master's degree.

Without knowing the German language, Franz had to navigate German bureaucracy and find an apartment within a few short weeks of arriving. He needed to be registered at a German address to access the money he deposited in a blocked bank account as part of the requirement for his visa. Franz found a room to rent where he thought he could register, but after paying for the room in cash with no receipt , he found out that he couldn’t register at the address. We talk about the challenges he faced during his first week and his dreams for his future.
