  • Stay Awake
    2026/09/14

Life has a way of emptying us out, even when we are doing everything right. The prophet Elijah experienced this firsthand, going from calling down fire on Mount Carmel to collapsing in the wilderness and asking God to let him die. Yet God did not scold him or question his faith. He simply fed him, let him rest, and told him there was more ahead. In Matthew 25, Jesus uses three parables to show what it looks like to stay spiritually full while waiting for His return. The key is not perfection but preparation. Staying faithful to your assignment, using the gifts God has given you, and showing up for the people around you is what keeps the vessel full. Jesus is coming back, and He is looking for servants who are found doing exactly that.

  • Staying Full • Staying Ready
    2026/09/07

Spiritual burnout is a real danger for those in ministry, and it often comes from serving others without staying personally filled. The Parable of the Ten Virgins in Matthew 25 makes it clear that oil, representing intimacy with the Holy Spirit, cannot be borrowed from someone else. You can adopt another leader's strategy or borrow a set of sermon notes, but you cannot borrow another person's prayer life or their history with God. Jesus warned in Matthew 7 that it is possible to do great things in His name while missing genuine relationship with Him entirely. Paul himself acknowledged the risk of becoming disqualified after preaching to others. The solution is not to stop serving but to serve from a place of fullness rather than depletion. Practical habits like consistent prayer, time in Scripture, and genuine rest are what keep the oil flowing. Stay full, stay ready, and make sure your lamp is burning bright when the Bridegroom arrives.

  • Riding The Storm Out
    2026/09/01

Storms are a guaranteed part of life, but Scripture shows us they are never without purpose. Three biblical accounts, Paul's voyage in Acts 27, the disciples on the lake in Luke 8, and Noah's flood in Genesis 6, each reveal a different dimension of faith in the middle of hard times. Paul's storm teaches the power of surrender, reminding us that God sometimes uses the storm itself as the path to His plan. The disciples' storm teaches the power of obedience, showing that when God sends you somewhere, He remains responsible for you along the way. Noah's flood teaches the power of building faith before the storm arrives, so that when it comes, you have something to carry you through. No matter which storm you are facing, God is present, His promises remain active, and the storm never gets the final word.
