    There are designated drivers that dedicate themselves to ensure that someone makes it home safely after a time of drinking. Someone to ensure that they are safe and they don't judge and belittle them. Someone that ensures that they get medical intervention in the possibility of alcohol poisoning or alcohol overdose. So, what happens in the same scenarios but instead of the choice of substance is not alcohol, but instead drugs? Not just "street drugs", but any and all drugs. Even from your local gas station, synthetic? In this episode, I talk about an organization that I came across that offers this type of lifesaving intervention for those that use drugs, regardless of kind. No, judgement, no legal reprimanding, just someone on the other end of a phone line ready to call 911 while you "use". The service isn't about enabling; it's about being the "designated driver".
