As the climbing and techno scenes continue to expand, merge and dissolve into one another, we're featuring another dedicated exponent of both lifestyles.... Slam Dunc aka Duncan Campbell.
After years of enjoying the music from the dancefloor, he's pitched headfirst into his DJ destiny and along with Decomposed favourite Flostate and Matt Bateman (who we'll defo be pinning down for a mix too!) has gone full send in organising a series of nights and events sharing their joint vision of how a proper techno night should be, drawing from extensive experiences of both grassroots and big professional parties. So for show 099, expect a refined blend of machine made 303 acid, ravey techno and deeper darker beats inspired by multiple pilgrimages to Berlin.

If you like what you hear, defintely get yourself along to "Dissolve" this coming Friday 17th of April with Flostate, St.Jude, Rosie Glow and Slam Dunc all on the lineup. South Bank warehouse is the place to be for this epic slice of Berlin meets Sheffield. Doors open 9pm and the scenes push on until 6am. For show 098 we're celebrating 3 righteous endeavors that are really close to my heart : filmmaking, climbing and of course music.... and the unbreakable link between them all!

On a couple of previous shows we've celebrated the music featured in two classic climbing films.... "Hard Grit" and "The Real Thing." However I was lucky enough to get immersed in climbing throughout what I consider a golden age of climbing films which were meticulously crafted to portray not just the climbing, but the personalities of the people and places that they focused on.

As ever in film making the music was a huge part of what made these productions so amazing. Heightening the emotional connection to what's occurring on screen.
So with this in mind, Decomposed Radio Show 098 presents "The Ultimate Climbing Psyche Mix" that's absolutely guaranteed to blow the socks off your personal bests in your training sessions.

Turbo kudos if you can pinpoint all of the classic climbing films that the tracks within the mix feature in, and we're probably gonna do a quiz to test the keener eared amongst you!!

You're back in the zone with Decomposed Radio!

It's only been 2 weeks since we featured DJ Galup's phenomenal set from the Works Party afters back in December last year, but the psyche is high and we're charging forth, this time with my own set from the main room at Network in Sheffield.

Occurring some time between the hours of 4am and 6am (to be honest its all a bit of a blur) it's an absolute privelege and a pleasure to follow some mega DJ talent like Cavey, Pale Ale, Bleaklow and Galup after they've done such a brilliant job of building the energy and the vibes to peak levels, giving me full confidence to dispense some of my favourite full on techno tracks both old and new. If there's an opposite of minimal techno perhaps this is pretty close to it. Let's call it "maximal techno!"

Lots of people were kind enough to give me some lovely feedback on both of my sets over the Works Party weekend but as ever, if people enjoy my sets even a fraction as much as I enjoy playing them we're definitely onto a winner!!
