Today I interviewed Michele Vennard owner of Bikram Yoga San Jose to talk about the benefits of maintaining your Bikram Yoga practice during menopause.

In her pre-yoga life, Michele Vennard was a marketing director for a line of Italian restaurants. Michele discovered Bikram yoga soon after her mother passed away from Alzheimer’s and became a certified Bikram yoga teacher in 2001. “I wanted people to find this yoga the way I did in helping me cope with such deep grief. It did that and more.”

In 2003, Michele founded Bikram Yoga San Jose with the dream to spread the benefits of Bikram Yoga to new students and to serve the diverse students that diligently practice this discipline. “Having a yoga studio gives me a chance to serve humankind but also unexpectedly filled that void in me to create connection with people. My students and staff are genuinely my family. If you come here just once, you’re wrapped up in my love, our love. It’s a place that’s truly a place of belonging. I’m so proud of that.”

Over Michele’s 20 years of teaching and 23 years of regular practice, not only has she taught thousands of students but she has also mentored teachers, coached yoga athletes, and hosted yoga competitions. In 2018, Michele became the National and International USA Yoga champion women’s 50+ division.

Anna teaches a non-diet approach to overcome food challenges such as binge, over- and emotional eating.

She assists women to re-learn how to trust their bodies to make food choices that feel good- without self judgment or shame.

Anna struggled for 20 years with a wide range of disordered eating behaviors, health and weight obsession, exercise addiction and body dysmorphia.

That all changed once she discovered how to trust her body through the freedom of intuitive eating.

For the first time, she experienced confidence, wellbeing, and feeling truly at home in her body like ever before.

Since then she has been working with women in her 1:1 mentorship program Food Freedom Solution.

Anna combines a wide range of techniques and tools to help her clients overcome their own personal food and eating challenges- without dieting or food restrictions.

Vlada Lisinenko guides from her creative spirit and passion. She is the founder and author of transformative forms and exercises (guided visualisations, Art as Medicine, Beauty as Medicine, Breath as Medicine, Metta-Morphosis, Doodling Alchemy, 'Beeldreflectie'), including 'The Raisin' (known from mindfulness). Her spiritual journey began in adolescence in her native Kiev. Besides her independent development full of contemplation, philosophy, dance, music, poetry and art, she learned Buteyko breathing techniques, transmeditations and deep energetic work originating from Tibet (further developed by Kalinauskas).

She chose to follow her passion in graphic design and illustration after studying Telecommunications at university. She soon combined this in her work as a coach and trainer.

In the Netherlands, she continued her path both independently and through education, training and retreats.

In her guidance through coaching and retreats, she combines her own tools with the Better Breathing method, (quantum) hypnosis, regression, reincarnation and the protocol work from Altazar Mystery school.

For the last 1,5 years, Vlada lives in Sweden, where she immerses, creates and writes in the midst of nature. Her living place on an authentic farm with a beautiful training room, offers the opportunity to host people for retreats and other spiritual events.
