👋Hi, I'm Juan Gabriel and I play games (literally) with tech titans. 🎮
David Hornik (August Capital) was the first content creator in Venture Capital with the first VC blog and his own podcast VentureCast. David is also the creator of The Lobby, a conference that stands out for its lack of programming to create the conditions for candid conversations between digital media leaders. David also teaches venture at Stanford GSB and HBS.
David teaches me (and you) several things in this episode:
- The startup CEO's fatal mistake: running out of money
- Being a board member means being the first to to get the call when things are going well, and the first to get the call when things are going poorly
- Venture relationships can sometimes outlast marriages
- Money is fungible (perhaps more than ever), but the advice you get get through a potential investment crash is not
David has agreed to give a 30 min consultation with listener. To participate all you have to do is share this video on social media or write a review on apple podcasts and send me a picture of the link or review to thejuanonone[at]gmail.com
