Psalm 90 teaches us to see life from God’s perspective. Moses reminds us that God is eternal, sovereign, and holy, while our lives are brief, fragile, and affected by sin. In light of that reality, we are called to ask God for wisdom, long for Christ’s return, find satisfaction in His steadfast love, and trust Him to make the work of our hands meaningful beyond this life. This sermon challenges us to stop chasing what will not last and live with a heart of wisdom before the Lord.

Psalm 93: Inspiration to Trust Him reminds us that while every human king and kingdom is limited, temporary, and ultimately fragile, God reigns with absolute authority, unrivaled power, and perfect faithfulness. The psalm gives us every reason to trust His kingship because His throne is eternal, His power is greater than even the mightiest forces of creation, and His Word is completely reliable. Because God is wholly trustworthy, our response should be more than belief—it should be glad submission to Him. Through Jesus, we have been made His people and called to live holy lives that reflect the character of the King we trust.

Psalm 96: Inspiration for Worship reminds us that worship is inevitable—the real question is what, or whom, we will worship. Unlike the false gods people try to manage, control, or use to get what they want, the Lord made the heavens, reigns over all, and has drawn near to us in Jesus. True worship is not a technique for manipulating God, but a wholehearted response to who He is and what He has already done. Because Jesus is worthy, risen, and reigning, we are called to worship Him with everything we are.

Psalm 80: Inspiration in Confusion explores what to do when life feels chaotic, God seems silent, and our circumstances appear to contradict what we know to be true about Him. Asaph shows us that faith does not ignore pain or confusion—it runs to God, tells Him the truth, and keeps trusting His character even when His purposes are hard to understand. The psalm’s repeated cry, “Restore us, O God,” ultimately points us to the greatest evidence of God’s favor and grace: Jesus Christ. Because of the cross and the empty tomb, we can trust God’s love, repent, and keep moving forward even in seasons we cannot explain.

In Haggai 2:20-23, God reminds Zerubbabel that no earthly power can stop His plan—God always wins. This final message in Haggai points forward to Jesus Christ, the promised King, whose Kingdom will ultimately overcome every human authority and even death itself. Because Jesus is King, believers can live with courage, stay focused on the Gospel, and faithfully use their time, talent, and money for God’s purposes. Our labor in the Lord is never wasted, so keep serving, keep trusting, and don’t look back.

Some of you have been hearing these sermons and saying, “Austin, I repented of not prioritizing God with my time, talent, and money, but nothing seems to be changing in my life!” So let me encourage you the same way Haggai encouraged the Jews standing in the rubble of their sin. You have to remember the laws of the harvest are universal, and that means they still apply in the New Testament!

The blood of Jesus establishes our standing with God, but the fruit of sin has real effects on our lives and others, and sometimes those effects are irreversible this side of Christ’s return! Practical holiness, or the lack of it, creates practical results! Praise the Lord that He promises to wipe away every tear at His return, but the pain created by our sin may not be wiped away in this life.

What does the use of your time, talent, and money say about how much you prioritize God and His work to prosper HIS eternal life in your family, community, and the rest of the world in and through your local church?

Do you really believe Christ is the KING who owns everything, because if you do, that includes what you have as well! If we ACTUALLY believe that He is KING, then we will have no other response than to lay down all we are and have before His feet because when we acknowledge Him as King, we are literally saying HE HAS OWNERSHIP, AUTHORITY, and RIGHTS over everything!!

The bottom line is this. We invest our time, talent, and money in what we feel gives us the greatest experience of glory! When you look at your calendar, the use of your abilities, and where you invest your money, you will see where and how you believe glory is experienced.
