概要
For Daniel Guzman, M.D., Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician and Medical Director of the Aim for Safety Program, has always been about more than treating patients - it’s about protecting communities. In this episode of Untold: The Stories of Cook Children’s, Dr. Guzman shares his journey from growing up in a small town in South Texas to becoming an emergency physician at Cook Children’s, where he has served for more than two decades. But his work doesn’t stop in the emergency department. Dr. Guzman is deeply involved in community initiatives focused on injury prevention, firearm safety and violence prevention. After experiencing a heartbreaking case in the emergency department, he felt called to take action - working directly with families, schools and community partners to help prevent tragedies before they happen. His story is a powerful reminder that caring for children sometimes means stepping outside the hospital walls to make a difference where families live.
