There are lots of denominations, particularly in the western part of the church. Nevertheless, the Bible demands unity. The Roman Catholic church and the Eastern Orthodox church both claim (individually) that they are the one true, unified church. Some denominations at least hint as if they are the one correct church. How should we look at all of this? Co-hosts Caleb and Austin attempt to answer this question and consider how we can maybe somehow have both denominations and unity as Christians.

In many Christian circles the idea of righteousness is completely bound up in morality. In order to be righteous, a person must be moral. In many instances Christians would say that there is not righteous person but the moral person. In this episode cohosts Austin and Caleb seek to answer the question of whether righteousness is really morality, or whether there is another, and even better, way of thinking about righteousness.

Many people will say that in order to rightly understand the Bible and be a good Christian you must take the Bible literally. Nevertheless, no on can take the Bible literally all the time at every level, at least how people understand literally. In this episode co-hosts Caleb and Austin seek to answer the question about how literally we can take the Bible.

If you look in scholarly sources you will find claims that places in the Old Testament and even the New Testament make use of mythology, even to the point of stealing it. Could there be any truth to this claim? If mythology does have an impact on the Bible, does it actually matter? If not, is there a reason to care about mythology at all? In this podcast co-hosts Austin and Caleb discuss mythology, how it connects with the Bible, and how there may be more than meets the eye when it comes to ancient mythology.

There are more than a few passages of Scripture that sound rather weird to our modern western ears. Though some translations can muddy the water a bit, Deuteronomy 32:8-9 and Psalm 82 are two such passages. There, however, might just be a good way to understand what is being stated. This reality can then open up a better understanding of many other Scriptures. Understanding the ancient idea of a divine council and how the Bible utilizes it is what co-hosts Caleb and Austin will be discussing in this episode.
