What changes in a leader when they finally stop hiding part of who they are at work?
In this episode of The Iteration Lab, Jarvis Consulting Group’s Co-Founder & CEO Mike Corbett sits down with Dan Bosman, SVP and Chief Information Officer of TD Securities Technology, for a conversation about a 25-year career built at the centre of global capital markets.
Dan traces the path from a BBC Micro wheeled into a UK classroom, to computer science at Southampton, to trading floors in New York across Merrill Lynch, Citi, Barclays and RBC Capital Markets. He began his graduate programme a week before 9/11, and describes how watching that response shaped everything he now believes about adaptability and resilience.
He also speaks openly about coming out. After years of believing he would lose his job, his friends and his family, one conversation with a senior leader in a New York bar gave him the confidence to start. His mother passed away not long after he came out to her, and that timing is why he now treats visible, inclusive leadership as an obligation rather than a nice-to-have.
The result is a candid conversation about why culture is the real non-negotiable, what early talent needs from leaders in the age of AI, and why a technologist who loves disruption still chooses to iterate.
