A one-of-a-kind Cooper Flagg rookie card, signed by the star and featuring a patch from his NBA debut with the Dallas Mavericks, is set to auction for millions—already drawing seven-figure offers including a $1.5M cash advance and a $1.2M Mavericks package. The collector who pulled it chose auction over private sale, and Flagg himself, a passionate collector, opened his own card shop, Flagg Trading Co., in Maine to support local collectors. The card, graded top-tier, could shatter Flagg’s previous record of $366K, following baseball’s precedent of debut cards selling for over $1M. The auction kicks off September 10–24 at Fanatics Collect.

Cooper Flagg is poised to take center stage for the Dallas Mavericks as they enter a new era under head coach Dusty May, with Kyrie Irving returning as his trusted second option—both players already showing strong chemistry off the court and on. Flagg’s rookie year was solid, and with mentorship from Irving and high expectations from the coaching staff—including former coach Jason Kidd comparing him to LeBron James—the pressure is on—but Flagg’s late-season growth suggests he’s ready for the leap.

In a wild NBA 2K27 simulation, the Dallas Mavericks—led by rookie Cooper Flagg—dominated without a single trade, winning the inaugural NBA Cup, finishing as the 2 seed, and shocking everyone by beating Denver and San Antonio in the playoffs. Flagg averaged 22 points and hit 35% from three, while Naji Marshall earned Sixth Man of the Year. But all that momentum crumbled when Digital Flagg went down in Game 2 of the Western Finals, ending their run against Minnesota. Was it a triumph? Or just a glimpse of what could’ve been?

Veteran coach Igor Kokoskov dropped a bombshell on his time with Jason Kidd in Dallas, calling it a disastrous experience and questioning Kidd’s coaching abilities despite his legendary playing career. Kokoskov highlighted how Kidd landed stacked teams—Brooklyn, Milwaukee, and Dallas—with star power already in place, suggesting success was more about pedigree than coaching. Tensions flared in Dallas when Kokoskov tried to leverage his relationship with Luka Dončić, but Kidd made it personal. The contrast couldn’t be starker: after the rough ride with Kidd, Kokoskov got a call from Steve Nash to join Brooklyn, calling Nash “the best guy in the NBA” compared to Kidd’s “worst guy” label. While he respects Kidd as a player, Kokoskov’s blunt take leaves fans wondering if Kidd will respond.

Igor Kokoskov, the coach who led Slovenia to Olympic gold in 2017, reveals why he left the Dallas Mavericks in 2022 — not over Luka Doncic, but because of head coach Jason Kidd. Kokoskov admitted he didn’t respect Kidd’s coaching style, feeling sidelined as someone there to support Kidd rather than lead Luka. He criticized Kidd for holding onto personal grudges and failing to let go of his own ego, ultimately wasting Luka’s prime years. After one season, Kokoskov jumped to Steve Nash in Brooklyn, calling it a move from “the worst guy in the NBA” to “the best guy.” Now that Kidd’s been fired, Kokoskov’s candid take is stirring controversy and could haunt Kidd’s future job prospects.

Former Dallas Mavericks assistant Igor Kokoškov dropped a bombshell, calling former head coach Jason Kidd “the worst guy in the NBA” — despite praising Kidd as a legendary player. Kokoškov, who coached Luka Dončić to a EuroBasket title and was brought in specifically to work with him, claimed Kidd couldn’t move past their pre-existing bond. Though Kidd publicly praised their chemistry, Kokoškov says he was sidelined and left after just one year — quickly accepting Steve Nash’s offer, calling it an easy decision. The Mavericks still reached the 2024 Finals under Kidd, but Kokoškov’s explosive comments reveal a tense, behind-the-scenes rift that contradicts the team’s on-court success.

This long-anticipated move to Australia marks the next chapter in a journey that shows how perseverance can turn setbacks into soaring second acts.

Spurs fans are buzzing over a bold trade idea: send Kyrie Irving, PJ Washington, Daniel Gafford, and Caleb Martin to San Antonio in exchange for DeAaron Fox, Keldon Johnson, Luke Kornet, Carter Bryant, and future picks. With Victor Wembanyama’s talent but lacking clutch scoring, Kyrie’s veteran poise could be the missing piece to push them over the top — especially after their Finals struggles against the Knicks. The Mavericks gain young stars and avoid Kyrie’s looming contract drama, making this a win-win that balances now and next.
