Father Luke Mary Fletcher, CFR reflects on Jesus’ teaching that He must suffer and die, and how this helps us understand our own suffering. When life does not make sense on a human level, God calls us to deeper trust, knowing that He can bring good out of suffering and lead us through the cross to the resurrection.

Blessed Fulton Sheen had a gift for engaging the modern world while pointing people toward the eternal truths of the Catholic faith. In this homily, Father Luke Mary Fletcher, CFR reflects on Fulton Sheen’s intelligence, education, preaching, and ability to reach people through television, radio, books, and his teachings. His witness reminds us to look beyond the temporary things of the world and recognize the lasting truth and substance found in the faith.

Why is the Sacrament of Confession so important? This homily reminds us that confession is essential to our spiritual lives and that God's mercy is always available when we turn to Him. The devil wants us to believe that we do not need confession, but through this sacrament, we receive God's forgiveness and grace to change our lives. Do not take this gift for granted. Return to confession and experience the mercy of Jesus Christ.
