In this Daily Devotion for October 7, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 84:7-9, a pilgrim journey that goes from strength to strength, heading toward God Himself, with a direct plea for the Lord to look favorably on His anointed, the king who represented the whole people before Him.

This devotion follows that title, anointed, forward to the true Anointed One, Jesus Christ, the shield for God's people, the face God looks upon with full favor, a favor that reaches us through Him. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, secured through His finished work rather than our own strength. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper that same shield and favor are given to us again, His true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins.

You are on a pilgrim road too, some days feeling strong, other days barely able to take the next step. Keep praying honestly, and remember your shield has already been provided. Jesus stands between you and every danger, carrying you from strength to strength.
