  • Reinvent Yourself
    2026/09/15
Daily Boost Podcast Reinvent Yourself September 15, 2026 | Episode 5542 Host: Scott Smith Episode Description Ever decide to change something, then trip over yourself a week later and wonder why you bothered? You're not alone. Most reinventions don't fail because the goal was wrong. They fail because a few pieces were missing before you ever started. Today I'm sharing what I told a friend at the gym who wanted to reinvent himself without stumbling. It's the short version of what I'll teach inside Operation Reinvention, and you can start using it before this episode ends. Decide. Know your why. Pick your what. Own it. Then move. Press play and I'll walk you through each one. Featured Story I was at the gym this morning when Jacob walked up. I know him well. He said, "Scott, I hear you talk about this reinvention thing. I don't want to go all in, but is there a way to start without failing?" Fair question. Most people stumble, change their mind, and quit before anything sticks. So we talked right there between sets. When I got back to the office, I jotted down everything I'd told him, and I realized it was the whole process in miniature. Jacob wasn't asking how to reinvent his life. He was asking how to take the first step without tripping. And that's the part almost everybody gets wrong. Important Points * Decide fully or don't bother. A halfway decision gets you a halfway result, and "sorta" gets you sorta nothing at all. * Add the new habit before you subtract the old one. Fill your time with good, and the bad runs out of room. * Know your outcome before you start. If you can't describe where you'll land, you'll never know when you've arrived. Memorable Quotes * The day you decide, it'll happen so fast it'll be scary. That might be one reason you don't want to decide. * If you add a new good habit, you don't have time for the old one. That's the best advice for breaking a bad habit. * You take in the breath, and you let out your own breath. You're responsible for yourself. It is up to you, period. Scott's Three-Step Approach * Decide to make the change all the way, then get specific about what's cracked in your peaceful base and why it matters. * Add one new behavior that crowds out the old one, and write down the exact outcome you expect when the change is done. * Assign the accountability to yourself, pick a start day, and move the moment that first urge to quit shows up. Chapters 0:15 - A gym conversation about starting without stumbling 1:16 - Operation Reinvention becomes the Face Your Passion kickoff 2:34 - Why you must decide all the way, not halfway 4:13 - Two levels of why and checking your peaceful base 7:23 - Accountability belongs to you and nobody else 9:39 - Commit, start moving, and push the trigger back Connect With Me Search for the Daily Boost on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify * Email: support@motivationtomove.com * Main Website: https://motivationtomove.com * YouTube: https://youtube.com/dailyboostpodcast * Instagram: https://instagram.com/heyscottsmith * Facebook Page: https://facebook.com/motivationtomove * Facebook Group: https://dailyboostpodcast.com/facebook Learn more about your ad choices. • Remember What Makes You Happy
    2026/09/14
Daily Boost Podcast Remember What Makes You Happy September 14, 2026 | Episode 5541 Host: Scott Smith Episode Description You're the boss of you. I'm the boss of me. And every week I watch people who know exactly what they'd love to do wait for the weekend to do it. That's a lot of Mondays through Fridays spent on hold. Today I'm handing you a challenge. It'll sound counterintuitive, then you'll try it and go, " That was easy. I'll walk you through six zones where your passion lives, and why a couple of small things from those zones today beat all of them on Saturday. Do it today. Maybe tomorrow too. You'll feel more fulfilled and more in control. Featured Story I live in Florida. I see it all the time. Somebody spends forty years caught up in the kids, the job, the traffic, the cost of everything. They know what they love. They'll get to it later. Then they turn 65, sell the house up north, and roll into town. I escaped the great north. Now it's my turn to live. And then they check out. Heart attack. Gone. I've seen it way too many times to laugh about it. That's why I built six passion zones. Not so you can plan a retirement. So you can find the couple of things that make you happy and do one of them before the sun goes down today. Important Points * Doing three of your hundred passions today beats doing zero. Small daily doses beat saving it all up for Saturday. * You can pick how you want to feel by picking who you connect with. Need support or love today? Reach for that person. * Legacy isn't what they say when you're gone. It's the thing you do every single day that people already know you for. Memorable Quotes * If I know what I like to do, then I should do it, because if I do what I like to do, my life should be better. * Just because you have a list of ten things you think make you happy doesn't mean you need to do them every single day. * I don't really care when I'm dead. I consider legacy a living legacy: what am I doing every day that people know me for? Scott's Three-Step Approach * Name one thing you love in each of the six zones: personal, purposeful, connection, spiritual, abundance, legacy. * Pick two or three of them, not the whole list, and do a small version of each one before this day is over tonight. * Notice tonight how much more in control you feel, then run it again tomorrow. Start today, start moving, stay moving. Chapters 0:15 - A doggie birthday party and a challenge for your week 1:08 - You're the boss of you, so why keep beating yourself up 2:06 - Face Your Passion opens Thursday with 100 founder spots 3:24 - Caveman common sense: know what you like, then do it 4:56 - Six passion zones, starting with personal and purposeful 6:04 - Connection, spiritual, and my morning Jesus talk 7:22 - Abundance, living legacy, and the Florida retirement trap Connect With Me Search for the Daily Boost on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify * Email: support@motivationtomove.com * Main Website: https://motivationtomove.com * YouTube: https://youtube.com/dailyboostpodcast * Instagram: https://instagram.com/heyscottsmith * Facebook Page: https://facebook.com/motivationtomove * Facebook Group: https://dailyboostpodcast.com/facebook Learn more about your ad choices. • Outsmart AI Right Now
    2026/09/11
Daily Boost Podcast Outsmart AI Right Now September 11, 2026 | Episode 5540 Host: Scott Smith Episode Description Twenty years ago, Tim Ferriss told us to leverage our brains and let automation do the grunt work. I bought in, built a business on it, and it worked. Then AI showed up with the same promise. Robots do the hard stuff; you get to be creative. Three years in, AI is writing the music and making the films. Guess what's left for you. Today I'm giving you a take on AI you haven't heard, straight from a coaching call with my client Ralph. It's dark, a little funny, and it ends with the one thing AI can't touch. Featured Story Picture your head as a coconut. AI walked up with a drill, bored a little hole in the top, and you didn't feel a thing. Coconuts don't feel anything. Then it slid in a long straw and sucked your brains out. For some of you, it was a sip. For the college crowd, it was a lot. It poured all of it into its own brain. And then came the twist. You can have it back for twenty bucks a month. Forever. You said, " Great, I get my brain back plus everybody else's. Ten million PhDs. Except there are eight billion not-so-smart people in there too, and now you can't tell which one is talking. That's where it gets interesting. Important Points * Every knowledge job is getting cheaper. Consultants and coaches who sell pure information are getting squeezed first. * AI will flatter you while it lies to you. Pull your own brain back out and double-check everything before you decide. * AI can't make the decision. Wisdom, judgment, and face-to-face guidance are your leverage now. Memorable Quotes * There are 10 million PhDs inside AI; there's no doubt about that, but there are 8 billion stupid people in there too. * AI lies to you. It gives you compliments while it lies to you. It tells you what to think. It's a very good liar. * The only thing you have that's more valuable than AI is the ability to make a decision and to use your wisdom. Scott's Three-Step Approach * Admit that trading pure information for money is over. Consulting and coaching on knowledge alone won't hold up. * Move what you know into a decision. Take the flood of AI answers and turn it into the call somebody can't make alone. * Deliver that judgment face to face. A little human conversation on top of all that leverage is the new arbitrage. Chapters 0:15 - Ralph's call sparks a take on AI you haven't heard 1:08 - Face Your Passion opens September 17 for 100 founders 4:48 - Tim Ferriss promised the beach, then AI moved in on it 6:44 - The coconut, the straw, and your $20-a-month brain 7:44 - Why AI flatters you while it lies to you 8:45 - Mid-career and scared, and consulting won't save you 9:15 - The one skill AI can't take and how to get paid for it Connect With Me Search for the Daily Boost on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify * Email: support@motivationtomove.com * Main Website: https://motivationtomove.com * YouTube: https://youtube.com/dailyboostpodcast * Instagram: https://instagram.com/heyscottsmith * Facebook Page: https://facebook.com/motivationtomove * Facebook Group: https://dailyboostpodcast.com/facebook Learn more about your ad choices.
