Shanon has been working with communities from children to senior citizens for over a decade with the goal of making nutrition relatable, accessible and enjoyable for all.

Shanon studied Nutritional Sciences at Howard University and Nutrition and Exercise Science at Columbia University, giving her the tools to influence behavioral change not only in her own neighborhood of Harlem, but all of New York City. Shanon currently serves as the Senior Director of Community Impact for the American Heart Association.

Shanon is also the author of an incredible children's book called MC Veggie Fresh Rocks the Mic.

On this episode of DAMSEL (no distress) we talk all things postpartum with Paige Bell-Rothwell.

Paige is a wife, mother to a toddler and newborn due soon, and a certified breastfeeding specialist.  She is an Endo warrior with stage 4 endometriosis who underwent IVF for her two blessings of children.

With difficulties in navigating postpartum and breast feeding, she embarked on a journey to become a breastfeeding specialist to help other women/families along in their postpartum journey.
