  • Ep 17 | The Weight Of Expectations - Why Women Are Isolated & How We Can Rebuild Our Community Part 1
    2026/07/04

You have a full life. A career. A family. Things to show for your effort. And somehow you still feel like nobody truly sees you. Like you are carrying everything and doing it completely alone.

This episode is for that woman.

Dr. Fatima Mohamed sits down with Fartun Hussein, Life Coach and Founder of Noor Essence Coaching, to talk about something our community does not say out loud enough, the weight of expectations that is quietly isolating Muslim and Somali women and pulling them away from the community they desperately need.

We talk honestly about the impossible standard placed on women today. The pressure to be successful, present, spiritual, selfless and strong, all at once with nothing left for yourself and nobody checking on you. The village that disappeared without anyone announcing it. The way strength became a mask and asking for help became something to be ashamed of. And what all of that is costing women, in their mental health, their bodies, their marriages and their sense of self.

And then we talk about what rebuilding actually looks like. Not the generic advice. The honest, practical, faith-grounded conversation about how Muslim and Somali women can find their way back to each other, and back to themselves.

Because we were never meant to do this alone. And it is not too late to build the village we needed all along.
