What if an incredible relationship wasn’t some impossible standard you had to work really fucking hard to achieve — but simply the baseline you expected to live in?Love should not feel like a constant exam you’re trying to pass. You shouldn’t have to spend your life guessing where you stand, chasing connection, overthinking every interaction or quietly starving while telling yourself you’re “fine”.In this episode, we’re setting a higher standard for incredible relationships — relationships that feel satisfying, steady, nourishing and genuinely good to be in.I break down a deceptively simple framework for cultivating healthy, fulfilling relationships: effort and effortlessness.Because yes, relationships require effort. Showing up. Following through. Having difficult conversations. Sometimes choosing connection over convenience. But there’s also an effortlessness that comes from genuine desire. When someone actually wants to be there. When care doesn’t have to be dragged out of them through guilt, anxiety, people-pleasing or repeated requests. When loving someone feels good rather than like another item on your fucking to-do list.We also get into overgiving — and why it isn’t necessarily the noble, loving thing we’ve been taught it is.Overgiving can leave you depleted and resentful, but it can also distort the relationship by taking away the opportunity for the other person to step up, contribute and meet you. Then there are boundaries, emotional labour and reciprocity.Because “protecting my peace” can be a useful boundary — but it can also become a convenient excuse to avoid the discomfort that comes with intimacy, accountability and being in an actual relationship with another human being. And reciprocity does NOT mean 50/50.It’s not keeping score. It’s not making a spreadsheet of who did the dishes or who texted first. It’s about a shared investment in the relationship, where both people are contributing, both people feel cared for, and when something feels off, there’s enough safety and goodwill to actually talk about it.We get into consistency vs constancy, being realistic about capacity, choosing selectivity over burnout, and why you don’t need to be everyone’s emotional support department. And you’ll get a practical activation to help you look at your own relationships differently:Who feels effortless to love?Who makes you feel loved?Where are you overextending yourself? And where do you actually want to be a villager?Because your energy is precious. And I’d much rather see you pouring it into relationships that genuinely sustain you than exhausting yourself trying to keep connections alive that leave you hungry. If you want deep intimacy, healthy relationships, more satisfaction and less fucking relationship guesswork, this one is for you.
