概要
 Crystal Kenny was a fiercely protective mother of three from Highland City, Florida. She had raised two children on her own, waited a year before introducing her future husband to them, and met him through church. She believed she was finally building a stable family. On Monday night, December 22, 2025, three days before Christmas, an argument over the living room television turned deadly. Crystal told her 12-year-old son to run to the neighbors and call 911. Moments later, her husband, Jason Kenny, shot and killed her. He then shot her 13-year-old daughter, who survived. The family’s one-year-old was found asleep and unharmed. Jason drove away and later took his own life, so there will never be a trial.

Investigators found a handwritten note Crystal had left for him, saying he was drinking and using cocaine again, and that he needed God. Relatives said he had been physically abusive, though the sheriff’s office had never received a domestic violence call from the home.
