Vikki Bramshaw, Author, Folklorist, New Forest Folklore

In this episode, I will be talking to Vikki Bramshaw. She has been an author for nearly twenty years, covering esoteric and historical topics. Vikki is currently working on the biography of Sybil Leek, which we discuss. We also talk about magic, theatre, and authenticity over lineage folk practices and venture into the world of Dionysus, animism, and cross-cultural parallels.

Vikki is also active in the New Forest Folklore Society, which was founded in 2025. The society brings together researchers, historians, and enthusiasts of New Forest folklore. She is running several projects to gather stories and promote the study and understanding of its unique cultural and environmental significance. As a quick overview of Vikki's books, we talk about Craft of the Wise, Dionysus Excited to Frenzy, as well as the Hecate anthologies.

Separating The Artist From The Art

I am in the lovely Dorset town of Wimborne just outside the Minster. And in this solo show I am talking about separating the artist from the art.

I'm reflecting on how revisionist history has changed our attitudes towards people from the past but also we're currently going through a transition stage where people who are writing great books and works of art are being cancelled because of their private lives or comments.

I suggest that the art is not the person and we are possibly losing something to our personal benefit.
