Tegan Higginbotham spent ten years writing a show about killer garden gnomes and then had to audition for her own lead role. Today she sits down with Sam and Sarah to talk about the joy of writing funny, flawed women, why she walked away from stand up comedy for eight years and what finally brought her back. Tegan also shares why she believes in the beauty of humanity even when the news has her spiralling, why young people have every right to be angry and why that gives her hope.

Matt Day has been one of Australia's most quietly brilliant actors for over 35 years, from A Country Practice to Shackleton working with Kenneth Branagh. But today he's here to talk about the stuff in between, the long silences, the self doubt and the Logies Hall of Fame induction that made him realise just how fast time folds in on itself. He also gets into his life as a writer and director, why short films are a sucker's game and why he keeps making them anyway.
