Welcome to Season 6! In this episode, Beth and Eliza discuss the ways in which, as helpers, our own stories and struggles can sometimes negatively impact the helping relationship. We discuss ways in which countertransference shows up in counseling relationships, but also in pastoral helping relationships and even in everyday friendships and family dynamics. We'll learn how to watch for countertransference and what to do when it impacts our conversations, emphasizing self-awareness, accountability, and a celebration of our humanity in a God-honoring way.
