It's been a bit of a break between episodes, but I have been on paternity leave. Today we start our new topic of 'Gastrointestinal Physiology' looking first at Liver Physiology. This is a big topic to cover and an equally important organ. I start with addressing the functional anatomy (01:43). Then this allows us to appreciate the many functions of the liver (06:48) followed by reviewing hepatic blood flow and the factors that control it (19:33). In today's final 'Equipment and Safety' topic I cover the much-loved topic of Ultrasound with a small part on neuromonitoring (to add onto Ep38) with a focus on SedLine. I thought I would touch on SedLine today because we have previously reviewed BIS but now this is becoming increasingly popular and may even be asked in the future (20:49).
