    Youth and Artificial Intelligence (AI)

"Three AI Research Studies Regarding Youth"

    Time Stamps:

    01:05 - Youth and AI

01:53 - The Hollings Center AI Jobs Report

03:16 - Skills Gaps and School Lag

    06:08 - AP-NORC (Who Uses AI)

10:42 - Pew Research (Teens and Chatbots)

14:37 - Guardrails and Closing Thoughts

    Episode Summary:

This episode introduces and discusses youth and artificial intelligence, using three research sources. A Hollings Center report argues AI is reshaping entry-level work and raising expectations for higher-order skills, while education systems lag behind. AP-NORC findings show that many adults have never used AI, but younger people use it more for brainstorming, work tasks, and searching for information, which accelerates task completion. Pew Research reports that many U.S. teens use AI chatbots daily for school help, information, casual conversation, and emotional support. Regardless, AI with guardrails should be just a convenience, not a replacement for real relationships.

    Weight A Minute

"When the Scale is the Struggle"

    Time Stamps:

    00:58 - Weight a Minute

    01:30 - 14 Day No Sugar Challenge

    02:40 - Why Weight Matters

05:34 - Food Swaps and Accountability

10:01 - Track Progress and Build Habits

    17:04 - Discipline, Mindset, Consistency

    Episode Summary:

In this episode, the discussion of weight and how a 14-day no-added-sugar challenge caused a shift in my mindset about food. Cutting out added sugars, bread, and fried foods, documenting meals in a shared Notes App (iPhone/iOS) food journal for accountability made a big difference in nutrition habits. Also, the reward is making better choices. Weight has been trending down from around 260; blood pressure has improved; adding electrolytes after passing out from low sodium and drinking too much water. Discovering a Harvard-related study about how doing something as simple as pushups may be an indicator of cardiovascular fitness and risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Discussed how the scale doesn’t tell the full story, using tools like a smart scale and a ZOZO Fit 3D Suit & App, and small daily steps truly make a difference. Lastly, enjoying occasional “bad” meals without guilt, and building the discipline, mindset, and consistency over time.
