The Cornell University scandal is getting bigger — and new recorded phone calls are raising even more questions about what happened inside the Chi Phi fraternity house and how the case was handled afterward.

On today’s Hot Mics, Billy Bush breaks down newly surfaced audio between Jane Doe and Matthew Ingalls, the explosive allegations contained in the lawsuit, and the growing scrutiny surrounding Cornell University, the Tompkins County District Attorney’s office, and the original investigation.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul has now brought Attorney General Letitia James into the case — but has James already signaled where she stands? Billy examines the investigation, the controversial six-page statement signed by Jane Doe, allegations that critical information was omitted, Cornell’s relationship with Greek life, and whether investigators failed to pursue evidence when they had the opportunity.

Billy also tackles the larger conversation surrounding alcohol, drugs, consent, trauma, college fraternity culture, and why social media has made having a nuanced conversation about cases like this nearly impossible.
