  • Goals that Matter
    2026/08/03

What if the priorities of a small, struggling church nearly 2,000 years ago are exactly what we need today?

In this episode, we continue our study through Colossians, where Paul lays out three goals for believers in Colossae and Laodicea: be encouraged, be united in love, and grow toward spiritual maturity. Simple to grasp, yet powerful enough to reshape a life.

Biblical encouragement is more than kind words or a pick-me-up, it means putting courage into someone else, helping them see that in Christ they can stay faithful, stand firm, and become who God is calling them to be.

Paul is clear none of this comes from having it all figured out. It grows out of a life rooted in Christ and committed to His people. As we encourage one another, pursue unity, and keep growing in our grasp of God's truth, we begin to look like a church that reflects the heart of Christ to a watching world.

Join us as we explore how these timeless priorities can shape our relationships, deepen our faith, and form us into the people God wants us to be.

  • The Suffering Script
    2026/07/29

Paul writes from a prison cell: "Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you." That's either the bravest sentence in the New Testament, or a script we've been handing hurting people for centuries.

This week we sit with that tension. What does it actually cost to say those words honestly, and what happens when we borrow them too soon, handing them to someone who's still in the middle of their own pain? Along the way: a personal story about sitting with grief instead of trying to fix it, a short look at what it means for grace to actually be met, and one simple thing to try this week if you're not currently the one suffering.

    Scripture: Colossians 1: 24- 29

  • The Upside to Suffering
    2026/07/27

Can suffering actually have a purpose?

In this episode, we explore one of the most challenging passages in Colossians, where the Apostle Paul writes from prison and makes a startling statement: he rejoices in his suffering. Not because suffering is enjoyable, but because he understands that God can use it for something far greater than he can see in the moment.

Our natural response to pain is to turn inward. We focus on what we've lost, what feels unfair, or when the struggle will finally end. Paul offers a different perspective. He invites us to see that our hardships may become a source of encouragement, growth, and hope for others, just as Christ's suffering brought life to the world.

This conversation doesn't minimize pain or pretend it is easy. Instead, it points us to the possibility that God is at work even in our most difficult seasons. When we begin to view suffering through the lens of Christ's sacrifice, we discover that our trials can have purpose, our endurance can strengthen others, and our hope can remain firmly rooted in Him.

Join us as we consider how God can transform seasons of hardship into opportunities to reflect the love, faithfulness, and hope of Jesus.
