Helping children discover that mindfulness does not need to be something separate from everyday life—it can be practised in the small moments that are already part of every day.In Series 12 of Mindful Moments with Miss Harrison, children explore how mindfulness can become part of ordinary routines: waking up, eating, walking, learning at school, preparing for sleep and moving through a busy day.Across six calm and practical episodes, Miss Harrison shows children that being mindful is not about being perfectly calm or clearing every thought from their minds. It is about noticing, pausing and gently bringing attention back to the present moment. The series begins with Mindful Mornings, where children learn how a few moments of stretching, breathing and checking in with themselves can create a calmer beginning to the day. Ezra's story demonstrates how even a two-minute pause can help a rushed morning feel more settled and intentional. In Mindful Eating, children slow things down and explore food through their senses. Through Leo's lunchtime experience, they discover how noticing colours, smells, textures and tastes can transform an everyday meal into an opportunity to practise attention and presence.Mindful Walking takes mindfulness into movement. Children learn to notice their footsteps, surroundings and senses while allowing thoughts to come and go without needing to follow them. Eli's mindful walk demonstrates how gently returning attention to the world around us can help us feel more grounded and connected. The series then moves into the classroom with Mindfulness in School. Through Amira's difficult morning, children learn that mindfulness does not make problems disappear. Instead, a short pause, an anchor breath, focusing on one thing at a time and using kind self-talk can make challenging moments feel more manageable. In Mindful Bedtimes, children explore ways to give busy minds a softer ending to the day. Breathing, stretching, allowing thoughts to pass and reflecting with kindness all become part of creating a peaceful transition towards rest. Finally, A Mindful Life brings everything together. Rosie demonstrates that living mindfully does not mean being mindful every second. Instead, mindfulness can be made up of small moments of awareness and care woven throughout an ordinary, imperfect day.Together, the six episodes help children understand that mindfulness is always available to them. They do not need special equipment or lots of time. Sometimes one breath, one pause or one moment of noticing is enough to begin again.Episodes in this series:S12 E1 Mindfulness for Everyday Life - Mindful MorningsStarting the day with breathing, stretching, self-awareness and a simple positive intention.S12 E2 Mindfulness for Everyday Life - Mindful EatingSlowing down and using the senses to experience food with greater attention and awareness.S12 E3 Mindfulness for Everyday Life - Mindful WalkingUsing movement, the senses and the world around us to become more grounded and present.S12 E4 Mindfulness for Everyday Life - Mindfulness in SchoolUsing short pauses, breathing, focused attention and kind self-talk during busy or challenging learning moments.S12 E5 Mindfulness for Everyday Life - Mindful BedtimesHelping the body slow down, allowing busy thoughts to settle and ending the day with gentle reflection.S12 E6 Mindfulness for Everyday Life - A Mindful LifeBringing mindfulness into ordinary moments throughout the whole day and learning that we can always pause and begin again. What children will explore across the series:What it means to bring mindful attention to everyday experiencesHow breathing can create a short pause between feeling and respondingHow to check in with thoughts, feelings and physical sensationsHow the senses can bring attention back to the presentHow ordinary activities such as eating and walking can become mindful momentsHow to focus on one thing at a time when learningHow kind self-talk can support children when things feel difficultHow to allow thoughts to come and go without becoming caught up in themHow mindfulness can support calmer bedtime routinesWhy mindfulness is not about being calm or perfect all the timeHow one mindful moment can provide an opportunity to pause and begin againMindfulness Skills from Miss Harrison:Pause and noticeStop for a moment and become curious about what is happening in your body, thoughts, feelings and surroundings.Come back to your breathOne slow breath can help bring your attention back to where you are right now.Use your sensesNotice what you can see, hear, smell, taste and feel.
