Peter approaches Jesus with a number that sounds generous: seven times. Jesus answers with

mercy beyond bookkeeping.

Many relationships do not end because love disappeared. They end because honest words were

postponed until silence hardened into distance.

A shepherd counts again: ninety-seven, ninety-eight, ninety-nine. One is missing. To others it may

be only one percent. To the shepherd, it has a name.

A grain of wheat looks insignificant in the palm. Buried in darkness, it seems lost. Yet what looks

like an ending becomes the beginning of a harvest.

The boat is far from shore. Wind claws at the sails. Waves rise like walls, and frightened disciples

cannot recognize the very One walking toward them.
