We are all affected by the heart wound to one degree or another. Authentic men are difference makers.

We all live in a broken world that happened in an instant. To think we are any different than Adam... we would be wrong. But we try to make heaven on earth but we still experience pain, suffering, disappointment, discouragement, fear, anxiety, and frustration.

We are broken men, living in a broken world and we are wire dot havre community with God our creator and others.

All-Alone Getting your Heart in the Game.

The importance of a man’s relationship with other men.

• We should have a mentor
• We should have someone to walk beside us
• We should BE a mentor

We tend to live “inside ourselves” alone. We are designed to be with others. We are made to be in community.

1. Do you feel all alone?
2. Discuss your true level of transparency with other men. Find a group to do that.

Think about it. We are all broken and need some kind of healing. But we can't do it alone. We are made for community. Think about it... Jesus took 12 men with him on his journey. Why do we try to go it alone. We need to find our community.

Start with a mentor: If you don't have a mentor FIND ONE, here's how:

• Identify someone you respect and ask them
• Set realistic expectations. They may say no for a ton of reasons that have nothing to do with you and that's OK
• Remember, he is a mentor, not your dad. Don't expect him to fill that void in your life
• Develop a plan for your meetings: How often, How will the be structured?
• Do some activities together: hunting, fishing, camping, golfing

Pray for God to send you some teammates into your life

Spend quality time together and seek to go deeper conversationally. Avoid the surface level conversations.

Learn to ask meaningful questions....

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.

Proverbs 18:1 Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgement.

Proverbs 13:20 Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.

Welcome back to the recap of Authentic Manhood looking at our role as a man by looking at the 33 years Jesus lived on earth. This session is about our Moms and the influence she has/has on our lives. Our Moms have shaped our worldview. Dr Henry Cloud says it this way in The Mom Factor. The way your mom “has handled your needs as a child has shaped your worldview, your relationships, your marriage, your career, your self image, your life. What we learned in our relationship with our mother deeply affects every area or our adult life.”

That being said thought, we need to break from Mom to become a man, an authentic man. That doesn’t mean stop talking to her, or stop seeing her, what we need is proper boundaries to continue to love and respect Mom, but continue to grow into the man God wants you to be.

How to develope a plan to overcome the mother wound:

• Address specific issues - Don’t be vague or General
• Establish boundaries for future interactions - Draw time tested boundaries that dictate how both of you will interact.
• Spell out clear consequences for violating boundaries - Let her know the cost of crossing established boundaries.

Real joy comes from: Jesus. But we can practice joy by…

• Gratitude – When you appreciate what you have instead of constantly chasing what you don’t, life feels fuller.
• Contentment – Learning to be satisfied with enough instead of always wanting more brings peace.
• Generosity – When you give, whether it’s your time, talents, or resources, you experience a deeper fulfillment than any shopping spree could bring.
• Strong Relationships – The best moments in life aren’t about what you own but who you share them with. Investing in relationships over stuff will always pay off.

How do you step out of the comparison game and into a life of joy and financial freedom? Here are five steps to get you started:

1. Define Your Own Success – What really matters to you? A debt-free life? More time with family? Peace of mind? Get clear on your goals, not someone else’s.
2. Live Within Your Means – Just because you can afford something doesn’t mean you should buy it. Avoid debt, save wisely, and be intentional with your spending.
3. Ditch Credit Card Debt – If you’re buried under high-interest debt, it’s time to make a plan. Start with a written budget, cut unnecessary expenses, and tackle that debt with intensity. The sooner you break free, the more peace you’ll have.
4. Limit Social Media – If scrolling makes you feel like your life isn’t enough, take a break. Social media isn’t reality—it’s the highlight reel.
5. Practice Gratitude – Each day, find three things you’re thankful for. Gratitude shifts your focus from what’s missing to what’s abundant.

It's still winter for a few weeks but the bulbs have popped out of the ground. I don't have enough faith for that to be evolution and not designed by a creator.
