He's coached an Olympic gold medallist, worked pitch-side in the AFL, and spent fifteen years studying human consciousness — now he's on a mission to change the way men think about their own wellbeing. In today's episode, Managing Partner Craig Emanuel sits down with John Toomey, Global Chair of the Global Wellness Institute's Men's Wellbeing Initiative. Why is men's health suddenly a global policy priority, and what's still standing in the way? John is one of the world's leading voices on men's wellbeing. CEO of The Wellbeing Thought Leaders and Global Chair of the Global Wellness Institute's Men's Wellbeing Initiative, he has delivered over 3,800 corporate presentations worldwide and is the author of "In it for the Long Haul," a guide for FIFO workers and their families now heading into its third edition. Earlier in his career John worked as a conditioning coach and nutritionist in the AFL and coached an Olympic gold medallist, before turning his focus to the whole person. In January 2026, GoWell Magazine named him among the top 25 male voices in wellness globally.
