  • 04 Are You Living in Chronic Stress? 3 Biblical Rhythms That Restore Your Soul
    2026/07/04

Chronic stress doesn't just affect your body—it impacts your mind, emotions, relationships, and spiritual life. Whether you're caring for a loved one, managing endless responsibilities, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life's demands, God never intended for you to carry every burden alone.

In this episode of Clothed in God's Strength, we'll explore biblical rhythms that help restore your exhausted soul. You'll discover practical ways to slow down, reconnect with God, release anxiety, and find sustainable strength for the journey ahead.

Let me ask you Mama why do you keep running on empty? The exhaustion cycle never ends until you choose rhythms to restore you. As caregivers we pour out so much and forget we are humans too, so today we will dismantle the guilt around rest.

Grab your lemon tea or put in your headphones and let take a ride on the wheels of Rest today.

For many years as a caregiver, this was me on the exhaustion cycle, I hit a wall that sleep won’t fix, selfcare routines alone wasn't enough but I kept telling myself just push through even when I had no strength in midst of medical chaos. I found this was not just performance issue but Mindset as well. This is what biblical rhythms actually looks like versus selfcare. Which is why we need to daily practice the rhythm of Rest and renew our minds with God’s word.

    Rhythms to restore your soul

    1. Name what is draining your energy and not sustaining you, bring it to God.

    2. Release your anxiety and worries

    3. Choose to Rest and dismantle the guilt around rest

    Caregiving is not a sprint.

    It's a marathon.

Without intentional soul care, chronic stress slowly steals your joy, your energy, and your peace.

But when you partner with God, you can experience calm even in difficult seasons.

You can move from burnout to balance.

    From exhaustion to endurance.

    From striving to surrender.

    One rhythm.

    One prayer.

    One day at a time.

You don't have to be strong enough for everything.

    In This Episode You'll Learn:

    • Three practica Rhythms you can begin this week
    • How to replace anxiety with God's truth when life feels overwhelming.
    Memorable Quotes

    "Rest isn't a reward—it's a command."

"You declare God's truth before you feel it."

"Your stability isn't found in a perfect routine; it's found in the unchanging presence of God."

"The exhaustion cycle ends when you choose rhythms that restore your soul."

    Key Scriptures

Proverbs 32 v 25 "She is clothed in strength and dignity, she can laugh at the days to come."

Philippians 4 v 6-7 "Don't be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving make your requests to God."

    3 Stress Recovery tools

    1. The 5-Minute Scripture Soak — Before you check your phone, before you check your child's vitals or med schedule, speak one scripture out loud. Post it on your bathroom mirror. Let the first words that leave your mouth be God's truth about who you are.
    2. The Anchor Phrase — Choose a scripture or declaration for the season you're in. When anxiety spikes, when a diagnosis hits, when you're driving to the pharmacy at midnight — you return to that phrase. It becomes the groove your mind slides back into.
    3. Connect with God— Begin and end your day with intentional connection. Even thirty seconds of 'God, I'm Yours today' in the morning and 'God, I give this back to You' at night creates a container of sacred space around even the hardest days. Speak Gods promises over your situation and let faith be louder than fear.

Replace anxious thoughts with scripture and stop living in survival mode.

    Prayer

Father, thank You for every caregiver listening today. Remind her that she is not carrying these burdens alone. Help her exchange striving for surrender, anxiety for peace, and exhaustion for Your strength. Root her deeply in Your Word so she remains steady no matter what storms come. In Jesus' name, Amen.
