Welcome to Cinema Role, the podcast where we let the dice decide! Each episode, we roll dice to choose a movie, how we watch it, and to drive our discussion!

Cinema Role was born out of a podcast idea that was very different from where we landed, though that tends to be how we do things when we get together. Fish randomly asked, “You know what would be fun?” and as we talked about it, we realized that we could maybe pull it off. So we came up with the name, found an idea that resonated with both of us, and worked hard to figure out a plan for a podcast that would be fun, different, and maybe just a little silly. Kind of like us! We hope you enjoy it too!

    Heading on back to the 70’s for some western comedy, Fish & Squid laugh and groan their way through Mel Brooks’ classic, Blazing Saddles. Squid gets artsy with Cinematography while Fish focuses on Continuity from scene to scene. While the movie has some language and violence, don’t worry if you’re squeamish. There won’t be blood… this time.

Lots of romance, drama, and delicious food are all over this foreign film, another Cinema Role first! Fish takes another crack at a focus on Marketing while Squid does a fantastic deep dive. With plenty of magic, some fire and horseback riding, watch out for some blazing saddles!

    Fly on in as Cinema Role tackles 2 firsts on the show! Dreamworks’ Megamind from 2010 is the first animated feature AND the first superhero (or supervillain) movie to appear on the podcast. Fish will dive into the casting while Squid fills us in on some of the interesting marketing tactics used to promote the film.
