Cinema IRL drops you straight into the movie and asks the question, "what would YOU do?" In every episode, Amber and Scott (and the occasional guest) take movie plot points and run them through a real-life filter. What holds up, what falls apart, and what they'd actually do when things get messy. From impossible choices to wildly unrealistic storylines, they break it down, challenge each other, and uncover how these stories might play out in real life. Cinema IRL is smart, funny, and just the right amount of unhinged. (In case you're wondering about the dinosaurs on the movie posters, it was an inside joke that gained waaaayyyy too much traction. • E294 – The Death of Robin Hood - What Would YOU Do?
    2026/07/24
Amber and Scott turn their critical lens toward the grim, blood-soaked reimagining of the classic outlaw tale in The Death of Robin Hood . They grapple with the jarring transition from childhood memories of animated foxes to a story defined by gore, maces, and a protagonist who has long since traded his noble cause for pure, unadulterated malice. The duo finds themselves deep in a debate over the ethics of generational revenge and whether or not a lifelong villain can ever truly find redemption on his deathbed. Some What Would You Dos from the episode: If you were a remorseless outlaw who had wronged countless families, would you keep your identity a secret to secure a fresh start on an island, or would the weight of your past eventually force a confession? When faced with a young man seeking vengeance for his family, would you choose to end the cycle of violence through mercy, or would you take him out to prevent future retribution? If you discovered that the man you were nursing back to health was the very person who murdered your family, would you be capable of finding the grace to forgive him, or would your rage take the lead? As a dying man, is it a final act of penance to reveal your true identity to a victim, or is it a selfish, cowardly move that forces them to carry the burden of your history? The conversation takes a hilariously dark turn as the hosts struggle to reconcile the film's gritty violence with the absurdity of Robin Hood’s final, precise instructions to his young charge. Scott and Amber ultimately agree that they might never be able to look at the classic Disney version of the story the same way again without shouting at the screen.

  • E293 – Leviticus - What Would YOU Do?
    2026/07/22
In this episode, Amber and Scott dive into the supernatural thriller Leviticus , a film that manages to blend high-stakes religious tension with the absolute absurdity of a "gay-away" curse. The hosts share a genuine laugh over the movie’s bizarre premise, where a simple crush turns into a life-or-death battle against an invisible, vengeful apparition. Between dissecting the questionable parenting of a mother who actively curses her own child and mocking the logistical nightmare of dating while being haunted, they explore the darker—and often more ridiculous—sides of teenage infatuation. Some What Would You Dos from the episode: What would you do if you realized the person you were falling for was actually a supernatural entity trying to kill you? What would you do if you were a teenager and discovered your partner was also seeing someone else behind your back? What would you do if you were in a relationship where you had to use a cigarette lighter to verify if your partner was a real human or a demonic hallucination? What would you do if you were forced into a religious ceremony by a parent who knew it would result in you being haunted and physically attacked for the rest of your life? Ultimately, the conversation hits a hilarious peak when the hosts try to solve the film's existential dread with a simple, modern fix: just start a group chat. It turns out that when you are being hunted by an invisible demon, a reliable cell phone plan and a consistent lighter-check ritual are far more effective than any exorcism.

  • E292 – Toy Story 5 - What Would YOU Do?
    2026/07/20
In this episode, the hosts dive into the existential crisis that is *Toy Story 5*, dissecting a world where imaginative play is fighting a losing battle against screen time and digital isolation. From the heartbreak of children being bullied for keeping their toys to the absurdity of a potty-training device voiced by Conan O’Brien, the crew explores why today’s generation might be losing their grip on resourcefulness. It’s a nostalgic, slightly cynical, and deeply passionate look at whether we’re raising a generation of loners or just adapting to a new reality.
