  • BREAKDOWN: Noah’s Ark FOUND? Dr. Joel Duff Breaks Down the Claim
    2026/10/13

Has Noah’s Ark finally been discovered in Turkey—or are Christians being misled by another sensational archaeological claim?Claims that Noah’s Ark has been found at the Durupınar formation in Turkey are making headlines again. Some are even calling the discovery 100% confirmed. But what does the evidence actually show?In this episode of The Breakdown from Christianity Up Close, we welcome back Christian scientist and professor of biology @DrJoelDuff to investigate the latest Noah’s Ark controversy. We examine the people and organizations behind the renewed claims, including Noah’s Ark Scans and its connections to Ron Wyatt, the use of ground-penetrating radar, and the fundraising efforts surrounding the project. We also discuss troubling questions about the track records of individuals promoting these discoveries.Perhaps most surprisingly, young-earth and old-earth Christians alike have raised serious objections to identifying Durupınar as Noah’s Ark. So this isn't simply a debate between Christians who believe the Bible and skeptics who reject it.And beyond the science and the money, there's a bigger question: Why are Christians sometimes so quick to embrace claims that supposedly prove Scripture? What happens when those claims fall apart? Our faith deserves careful investigation, not sensationalism.Join us for an important conversation about Noah’s Ark, scientific evidence, Christian discernment, and what our faith is ultimately grounded in.Subscribe to Christianity Up Close for thoughtful conversations about Scripture, theology, apologetics, science, and the Christian faith.📬 JOIN THE UNFILTERED NEWSLETTERGet weekly reflections, channel updates, and announcements about upcoming episodes and guests:https://substack.com/@kelvinsfaithunfiltered

  • Genesis 1–11: History, Myth, or Something Else? | Part 2
    2026/10/13

Is Genesis 1–11 straightforward history, theological storytelling, mytho-history—or something else entirely?

In Part 2 of our Genesis series, Kelvin and Josiah examine four major ways students of the Bible understand these opening chapters. We discuss why faithful Christians reach different conclusions, whether alternative readings weaken biblical doctrine, and what Adam, evolution, death, and Paul’s theology have to do with the debate.

We are not abandoning conviction or pretending every interpretation is equally convincing. We are asking whether Christians can examine Genesis honestly without misrepresenting opposing views, surrendering biblical authority, or using fear to protect their position.

Pick up your Bible, read Genesis 1–11, and tell us where you land in the comments.

  • Dan McClellan, “Data Over Dogma,” and the Battle Over the Bible
    2026/09/08

Dan McClellan has become one of the most influential Bible scholars on social media, building a massive platform around a simple motto: “Data over dogma.”But is his approach really free from dogma? In this episode of Cloud & Fire, Kelvin Anderson and Josiah Spencer examine McClellan’s approach to Scripture, his use of critical scholarship, his stated concern for less powerful groups, and his rejection of inspiration, inerrancy, and univocality as unsupported dogmas. We also step back and ask a bigger question: What happens when the methods we use to study the Bible begin by excluding some of the Bible’s own claims about itself? This isn’t an attempt to answer every argument McClellan has ever made. It’s a challenge to Christians to understand the debate, engage serious scholarship, examine the assumptions behind the conclusions, and do the work necessary to defend what we believe.

  • Cloud & Fire: Eli Ayala returns to answer your comments!
    2026/08/18

After our previous discussions generated a number of challenges and responses, we brought some of those objections back to Eli and gave him the opportunity to answer them directly. At the center of the discussion is @SkepticalAgnostic demand that one of the cornerstone claims of TAG—the “impossibility of the contrary”—actually be demonstrated. It is not enough to show that the Christian worldview can account for logic, knowledge, and intelligibility. Can the presuppositionalist demonstrate the stronger claim that Christianity is the necessary precondition for them and that the contrary is truly impossible? We asked Eli to answer this challenge, along with many more of your comments and objections.

  • Cloud & Fire: Deconstructionist former Evangelical Tim Whitaker says no one warned him about “the truth.”
    2026/05/25

So what “truth” does he think he found? In this Cloud & Fire live reaction, we take a closer look at his deconstruction story and the ideas shaping it—especially the influence of modern critical scholarship and how it reframes Scripture. We’re talking about influences and frameworks connected to voices like Peter Enns, Dan McClellan, and others who approach Scripture with a very different set of starting points.Because maybe the real question isn’t:“Why didn’t anyone warn him?”Maybe it’s:Why didn’t he listen?“They went out from us, but they were not of us…”— 1 John 2:19
