There are many days where it can be a challenge to praise, trust, and believe God in the midst of all that we are facing. Since I recorded this episode there was an opportunity that I felt like God brought my way, and then things did not go as planned. I put in the work and sacrificed so much, and I did not win the grand prize/any prize which I felt like could have improved my current conditions in life. I had to dig deep to pray and tell God that I trust/believe that He has something better in store. That He will provide even when things seem impossible. Overall, this episode is about praising God in the "Even in This Moments". May this episode be a blessing and encouragement to you!

During this lengthy season of singleness God has been showing me that He usually prepares us for what is coming next, but it often takes time. I was recently in another country it when I ordered food the wait was often up to an hour. The waiting felt long and like torture, but the food that took forever to cook often tasted really good and was worth the wait. I am thankful that God loves us enough to take the time to develop and to prepare us. That He reminds us that the better quality things/people/opportunities that He has for us can't just be put in the microwave of life and ready in a few seconds! Though the wait can be long what He has in store for us is worth the wait!

I know that Valentine's Day can be a day where you feel mixed emotions. Maybe the day does not mean anything to you. Maybe you are just ready for all of the hearts and other decorations to be gone and replaced with directions for the next holiday. Honestly Valentine's Day has been a reminder of my lengthy season of singleness. I have felt left out or left behind. I know that I am loved by God, but this day reminds me of my longings. I don't have any super encouraging quotes or phrases. I am sorry if your heart is hurting right now. I do have a Bible verse that I want to share that holds true even beyond Valentine's Day.

"Let all that you do be done in love." - 1 Corinthians 16:14

Finally, a happy and less heavy episode. I am a planner, and it is difficult for me to stay in the moment. I often ask God what is next or when is this or that going to happen. Many times, I do not get the answers that I expected or sometimes I feel like God is teaching me to wait patiently. It can be easy to rush through certain seasons and to want to get to a certain destination in our lives. In 2025 I am learning to slow down and to seek out more Mary versus Martha moments. To listen and to learn more. It is still ok to ask God what is next and to look forward to the future.

Initially I was hesitant to record and publish this episode. I am a more private person and don't like to tell all of my family business. Then I realized that sharing my story can help others. I am African American and over the years I have seen how not talking about things and not seeking help keeps us in bondage and stops us from healing. It can be difficult overall to face grief and loss as a single person as sometimes you may feel isolated and lonely. May you be reminded that you are never alone!

Many of us are familiar with the story of Joseph from Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, or from a brief sermon. I don't really remember anyone talking about the parts of Joseph's story when he is given favor by Pharaoh or the moments where he speaks about God's hand and plan in everything that happened throughout his life. Overall, the story of Joseph reminds me that God is still working behind the scenes even when our lives seem like a mess. God can still use the good and not so good things that happen to us to be a blessing to us and to others.

There can be beauty in the waiting, but there can also be frustration and loneliness.
