  • Episode 7: When God Changes Your Identity
    2026/07/21

For years, I thought God was building my business.

Looking back, I realize He was building me.

In this deeply personal episode, I share the story of growing up in a pastor's home, struggling to find where I fit, and how God unexpectedly gave me a business that eventually became my identity.

    Then everything started to change.

As God began calling me into deeper obedience, it felt like life became more difficult. Financial pressure mounted. My blended family was under stress. My mental health was at one of its lowest points. I questioned whether I had heard God correctly, while others questioned the changes they were seeing in me.

Yet in the middle of the uncertainty, something unexpected happened...

I experienced a peace that made no sense.

In this episode, we unpack Acts 7 and Stephen's powerful message about the Temple, discovering how easy it is to find our identity in what we build instead of in the One who called us. We'll also talk about how to discern God's voice, why obedience doesn't always make life easier, and how to recognize the fruit God is producing when your circumstances don't make sense.

    If you've ever wondered:

    • Am I hearing God correctly?
    • Why does obedience sometimes feel harder?
    • Has my business, career, or ministry become my identity?
    • How do I know if God is changing my direction—or changing me?

...then this episode is for you.

God may not be asking you to abandon your assignment.

He may be inviting you to rediscover your identity.

  • Episode 6: What If God Doesn't Want Your Old Business Back?
    2026/07/15

What if the reason you can't get your business back to the way it used to be… is because God isn't trying to take you back?

As business owners, we often ask God for restoration—but if we're honest, we usually already have a picture of what we want that restoration to look like. We want the business, momentum, confidence, and clarity we used to have.

But what if the next harvest doesn't look like the one you lost?

In this episode of the Watchpost Partners Podcast, Ashley Nutter connects Joel 2:25, Acts 15:16–17, and Habakkuk 2 to explore what biblical restoration can look like in business and leadership.

Maybe you're trying to solve a spiritual season with another business strategy. Maybe you've been working harder, changing plans, and trying to rebuild something without first asking God what He's actually building.

Joel says God will restore the years the locust has eaten.

Acts says, “I will rebuild… and I will restore.”

Habakkuk reminds us to get to the watchpost and listen before writing the vision.

    So here's the question:

Would you recognize God's restoration if it looked completely different from what you lost?

The next harvest may not look like the last one—but don't miss what God is growing because you're still looking backward.

  • Episode 5: Is It a Business Problem—or a Heart Problem?
    2026/07/14

What if the thing you're trying so hard to fix in your business… isn't actually a business problem?

As business owners, we're wired to solve problems. When something stops working, we change the strategy. We hire someone new. We spend more money. We work longer hours. We try another system, another plan, another idea.

But what happens when none of it works?

In this episode of the Watchpost Partners Podcast, Joel talks about the seasons in business when the strategies that used to work suddenly don't—and why God may be using the pressure in your business to reveal something deeper in your heart.

Maybe the question isn't simply, “How do I fix my business?”

    Maybe it's time to ask:

    • What area of my business am I desperately trying to control right now?

    • What am I afraid will happen if I stop trying to fix it?

    • Am I exhausted because business is hard—or because I'm carrying something God never asked me to carry?

    • Is there something that used to work in my business that I keep trying to force to work again?

    • Have I actually asked God what He's doing in this season, or have I only asked Him to make the problem go away?

    • What if God is using my business to change something in me?

    • If God asked me to do business differently, would I be willing to obey—even if it didn't make sense yet?

Through personal stories, real conversations with tired business owners, Scripture, and the picture of Habakkuk standing at the watchpost waiting to hear from God, this episode is an invitation to stop assuming every business problem needs another business solution.

Your business may be producing something far greater than income.

God may be using it to shape the leader, steward, and person He is calling you to become.
