The Chicago Bears are flying into Week Two with a fully healthy roster, as Ozzy Trapilo returns to full practice and clears all injury designations, while key players like D’Andre Swift and Darnell Wright also shake off concerns. Safety Xavier Woods is back from a groin injury, adding depth to the secondary alongside Malik Muhammad’s strong slot performance. Meanwhile, the Vikings face major absences: QB Kyler Murray is sidelined with a concussion, forcing Carson Wentz into action, and receiver Jauan Jennings is out — giving the Bears’ defense a crucial edge. With health on their side and the Vikings missing key pieces, this matchup could be a breakout game for Chicago.

The Chicago Bears made a move this week, placing defensive back Anthony Johnson on injured reserve and bringing back Keidron Smith for a reunion — Smith was previously waived but now returns to fill the spot. Johnson, a seventh-round pick with modest stats, was recently added to the practice squad after not making the main roster. Smith, an undrafted Kentucky product with limited experience, brings fresh energy after stints with the Broncos and Jets. With two players elevated last week — Kaden Davis and Miller Moss — now back on the sidelines, the Bears are tightening up their roster as Xavier Woods’ injury status looms large. If Woods can’t go, expect either Deantre Prince or Smith to step in.

The Chicago Bears are locked in a battle for their left tackle spot, with Theo Benedet emerging as the clear upgrade over Braxton Jones after a strong debut. While Jones got more snaps in their win against the Panthers, his pass-blocking struggles stood out—Benedet, meanwhile, allowed zero pressures in limited action. Last season’s data backs Benedet too: the Bears’ run game thrived when he started. Facing a tough Vikings defense that stifled the Packers’ ground attack, Chicago needs its offensive line firing on all cylinders. Benedet may not be officially named starter yet, but putting him in at left tackle is the smart move to maximize their chances in crucial early-season games.

DJ Moore’s shoulder injury from Thursday’s Bills game is day-to-day, with a possible return next week — but don’t count on it. The wideout, who’s been lighting up Buffalo in his debut, went down early and barely saw the field. Bears fans still love him — he was a clutch target in Chicago for three seasons, hauling in 300+ yards and 20 TDs annually before being traded this offseason to clear cap space. Even after a modest 2023 season, he remains a key piece in Buffalo’s offense. Now, everyone’s watching to see if he can bounce back strong — and fast.

Week Two in the NFL is heating up as the NFC North races toward a wild showdown: Vikings vs. Bears in Chicago, where Mother Nature might be the real MVP. Heavy rain and 30-mph winds are forecasted, potentially turning Soldier Field into a soggy battlefield — with models predicting nearly an inch of rain during Sunday’s game. Even if the downpour eases, the wind could disrupt both offenses. With first place on the line and weather chaos looming, this matchup could become one for the ages.

Kyle Monangai is emerging as a fantasy sleeper for the Chicago Bears, exploding in his final six games last season with 322 rushing yards, a TD, and 8 catches for 67 yards — all while carrying the load when D’Andre Swift rested. With the Bears scoring 59 points in their opener, Monangai’s role is poised to expand. A Rutgers product following in the footsteps of Isiah Pacheco and Gus Edwards, he brings explosive potential — especially valuable in 12-team leagues. If you missed him in drafts, now’s the time to trade for him: he may have quiet games, but those are prime buy-low opportunities. Don’t sleep on him — he’s primed for a breakout this Sunday against the Vikings at 1 p.m.

Jaylon Johnson admits he doesn’t “enjoy going against the best guys in the league”—a surprising quip after a rough Week 1 debut where he surrendered 127 yards and touchdowns. But given his past enthusiasm for facing elite receivers, it’s hard to take it literally. Both he and Tyrique Stevenson took accountability, watched film, and are ready to bounce back this Sunday against Justin Jefferson and the Vikings at Soldier Field—where the Bears’ defense can prove they’re more than just a shaky opening-week unit.

The Bears’ season opener was a rollercoaster—offense flashed, but defense surrendered 37 points to Carolina, the worst in franchise history. Coach Johnson demands perfection and a bounce-back performance next week. Minnesota’s Kyler Murray may sit with a concussion, opening the door for Carson Wentz to lead Justin Jefferson, a relentless threat who’s haunted the Bears before. This is their first NFC North game since 2021, and if corners don’t tighten up, that losing streak continues. The pressure’s on to fix mistakes fast and rise to the occasion in divisional play.
