概要
The Cave on Thunder Cloud by Mary Roberts Rinehart is a humorous adventure featuring the spirited Tish Carberry and her loyal companions, Aggie and Lizzie.Seeking excitement and independence, Tish convinces her friends to join her on a camping expedition near Thunder Cloud Mountain. What begins as a simple outdoor adventure soon becomes far more complicated when the women find themselves unexpectedly connected to the aftermath of a train robbery.Their campsite and a nearby cave become important to the unfolding mystery, and circumstances begin to make the three women appear suspicious. As the authorities investigate, misunderstandings multiply and Tish’s determination to handle matters in her own way creates even more confusion.Despite the danger surrounding them, Tish refuses to be intimidated. Her confidence, unconventional ideas, and willingness to take risks repeatedly pull Aggie and Lizzie into situations they would never have chosen for themselves.Mary Roberts Rinehart combines mystery and adventure with comedy, using the contrast between the respectable women and the increasingly absurd circumstances around them to create much of the story’s charm.Rather than being a supernatural horror tale, The Cave on Thunder Cloud is a lighthearted story of friendship, camping, crime, mistaken suspicion, and unexpected adventure.
