  • What Lent Really Means | The Desert, The Cross, and Conversion
    2026/02/26

In this episode of Catholic Talks with Moses, we reflect on the true meaning of Lent after entering the season through Ash Wednesday and the First Sunday of Lent.

After watching The Passion of the Christ, I was reminded of something heavy but necessary — sin is not light. Lent is not just about giving up snacks or posting ashes online. It is about understanding what sin costs and responding with real conversion.

    We dive into:

    • The Temptation of Jesus in the desert (Luke 4:1–13)

    • Why the Church gives us forty days

    • The danger of treating confession as a “free pass”

    • How subtle temptations shape our habits

    • What it truly means to return to God

    Lent is spiritual battle.

    Lent is discipline.

    Lent is mercy.

But most importantly — Lent is an invitation to come back to God seriously.

If you need a Lent reset, this episode is for you.

  • We’re Back: A Time for Prayer and Reflection
    2026/02/05

After a short break, Catholic Talks with Moses is back! In this heartfelt episode, we reflect on staying faithful in challenging times, trusting God, and finding hope even when life feels overwhelming. We talk about pressing events in our world, including the struggles many families face today, and the importance of lifting them up in prayer.

We also discuss the recent incident at Holy Innocents Catholic School in Long Beach, where the sacred Tabernacle was disturbed — a reminder of the reverence we must show for the Eucharist and the Mass, and the need to keep our faith strong no matter the circumstances. Through all of this, we reflect on the call to love one another as Christ commands us and the mission that guides this podcast: to grow closer to God together.

Additionally, I share personal updates and ask for your prayers as I attend a 3-day Confirmation retreat at the end of February, praying that both I and the students grow spiritually. And for those who have been following my journey, I’m excited to announce a new Spanish version of the podcast, Charlas Católicas con Moses, starting this March, where we’ll continue sharing the same reflections and lessons for all Spanish-speaking listeners.

🙏 Let’s continue walking together in faith, prayer, and love.

  • The Nativity Story — God With Us
    2025/12/31

In this episode of Catholic Talks with Moses, we reflect on the Nativity of our Lord and the profound truth at the heart of Christmas — God is with us.

Using Luke 2:1–20 and Matthew 1:18–25, we walk through the birth of Jesus: His humble arrival in Bethlehem, the faith of Mary and Joseph, and the joy proclaimed to the shepherds. Through this sacred moment, we are reminded that God enters our world not in power or wealth, but in humility and love.

This episode invites us to slow down amid the busyness of the season and rediscover the meaning of Christmas — that Christ comes to dwell among us, to bring light into darkness, and to draw us closer to Him.

  • The Annunciation & Our Lady of Guadalupe — Mary’s Yes to God
    2025/12/31

In this episode of Catholic Talks with Moses, we reflect on one of the most important moments in salvation history — the Annunciation, when the angel Gabriel announced God’s plan to the Blessed Virgin Mary and she responded with her faithful yes.

Using Luke 1:26–38, we explore Mary’s humility, trust, and obedience, and how her response opened the door for Christ to enter the world. We then connect this powerful moment to Our Lady of Guadalupe, reflecting on her loving appearance to Saint Juan Diego in Mexico and her continued role as a mother who leads us closer to Jesus.

This episode invites us to reflect on Mary’s example and ask ourselves where God may be calling us to say yes in our own lives, especially during the Advent season.

  • The Meaning of the Jesse Tree
    2025/12/31

During this Advent season, the Church invites us to slow down and reflect on God’s promises. In this episode of Catholic Talks with Moses, we explore the meaning of the Jesse Tree and how its symbols tell the story of salvation — from the Old Testament to the birth of Jesus Christ.

The Jesse Tree reminds us that Advent is not just about waiting, but about remembering how faithfully God has worked through history to bring us our Savior.

As we prepare our hearts for Christmas, this episode invites you to see Advent as a journey of hope, trust, and expectation — leading us closer to Christ.
