This week on Campus Hustlers, we’re spotlighting a young entrepreneur whose journey is built on trial, growth, and resilience.

Abdulwasiu Yasir is a real estate consultant and realtor who didn’t just wake up and “get it right.” Before stepping fully into real estate, he explored digital marketing, affiliate marketing, network marketing (Neolife), and other small businesses. Some worked. Some didn’t. But every experience shaped him.

After graduating from secondary school in 2024, he joined the real estate industry, and that’s where everything clicked. He found his why. Since then, he has stayed consistent, gained real-world experience, and built valuable connections in the business space.

Currently a 200-level Mass Communication student at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Abdulwasiu understands the reality of balancing lectures with listings, assignments with ambition. While location can be a barrier for student investors, he has continued to push forward, learning how to build trust and credibility as a young person in business.

This week on Campus Hustlers, we’re featuring Mayowa Oyedele, a recent Nursing graduate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, and the creative mind behind Aradel Crochet.Mayowa’s journey didn’t begin with a big investment or perfect conditions. It started in 100 level — selling eggs to her classmates. From there, she launched Aradel Chin Chin with just ₦1,500. Through consistency and smart reinvestment, she grew it to ₦14,000 — money she used to purchase yarn and crochet tools that eventually birthed her crochet brand.But her love for creativity started even earlier. Growing up around her mother, a knitter, Mayowa learned multiple skills — from baking to wig-making. Yet knitting was the one that truly resonated with her. That passion later evolved into crocheting, where she now transforms yarn into wearable fashion, accessories, and art.Today, Aradel Crochet has trained over 15 students, empowered young creatives, and grown into a brand built on creativity, sustainability, and youth empowerment. What began as small campus hustles has become a vision bigger than profit.In this episode, we discussed a powerful topic: How young people can overcome the “I don’t have enough” mindset. Rodiyah Badmus is a 4th-year Nursing student at LAUTECH whose journey into personal development and storytelling is as inspiring as it is authentic. Passionate about self-growth, she constantly immerses herself in courses and writing contests—an unexpected path for someone who once believed she would remain in her shell forever.

Her turning point came when she began reading both fiction and nonfiction, sparking a bold question: *“What if I rewrite this story?”* From there, she started crafting her own narratives. Back in secondary school, Rodiyah wrote a college-themed story on societal class and status, sharing each chapter with a friend who eagerly awaited the next part. That early encouragement fueled her love for writing articles, debates, and diverse topics.

Despite being naturally shy—Rodiyah’s talent refused to stay hidden. She eventually represented her school in debates and public-speaking programs, experiences that helped her confront her fear of crowds and embrace her voice.

Today, she explores storytelling as a mode of self-expression, finding joy in narrating her life through stories. She’s also developing a budding passion for voiceovers and is determined to grow in that field, bi’idhnillah.

Beyond writing, Rodiyah is a committed volunteer. She may not call herself a global volunteer yet, but she’s steadily building toward it—participating in medical outreaches, delivering health talks, and currently serving as the liaison officer of her faculty for a mental health foundation.

Rodiyah is also learning baking and pastry skills—a decision she wrestled with before finally taking the bold step. Now, every holiday becomes a chance to learn more. Though she hasn't fully launched her baking business yet, she’s actively practicing and building her craft. And yes, that *does* count as entrepreneurship.

Rodiyah’s story is one of courage, growth, and stepping into purpose—one skill, one story, and one opportunity at a time.

She began baking as a business to support herself through school, driven by one powerful mindset: never be a liability, always be a solution provider. Her journey has been filled with sweet wins, tough challenges, and lessons that shaped both her brand and her character.
