This week around the Camp Wayback fire, Mookie, Crawdaddy, and the Big Red Machine are heading into the pitch meeting for the completely ridiculous ’80s crossover movie we never knew we needed.

Our story begins when Clark Griswold heads to Camp Crystal Lake with his unlikely young sidekick, Data from The Goonies, completely unaware that something far more powerful than Jason Voorhees has been hidden beneath those waters for centuries…

THE SWORD OF OMENS.

Guarding the secret is Crystal Lake’s telekinetic protector, Tina Shephard, who knows exactly what could happen if the sword falls into the wrong hands.

Unfortunately, the wrong hands are already on their way.

Enter Sho’Nuff—the Shogun of Harlem—who believes the Sword of Omens possesses enough supernatural power to restore his former glory and help him reclaim Harlem. And every great villain needs a sidekick, so naturally Sho’Nuff has recruited the loudest, meanest, most unpredictable mercenary imaginable:

The Iron Sheik.

And he brought the Heineken.

Clark Griswold. Data. Tina Shephard. Sho’Nuff. The Iron Sheik. The Sword of Omens. Camp Crystal Lake.

This should not work.

Somehow… it does.

From action icons and horror legends to teenage heroes, martial arts villains, lovable weirdos, and characters who have absolutely no business appearing in the same movie together, nobody from the 1980s is off limits.

And once the draft is over? We have to figure out what kind of ridiculous movie we just created.

This week, Camp Wayback is heading back to a time when Saturday morning cartoons were basically 30-minute toy commercials, Christmas catalogs were sacred texts, and nothing hurt worse than hearing the words “Put that back—we’re not buying anything today.”

Mookie, Crawdaddy, and the Big Red Machine are cracking open the toy box for Part 1 of our Ultimate ’80s Toy Rewind! We’re revisiting the action figures, vehicles, playsets, cartoons, commercials, and ridiculously awesome toy aisles that helped define our childhoods.

From He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, G.I. Joe and Transformers to the toys we begged for, the ones we actually owned, and the Holy Grails we’re still kicking ourselves for losing, we’re digging into what made growing up with toys in the 1980s feel so damn special.

But this isn’t just about plastic action figures. It’s about ripping open a brand-new toy on Christmas morning. Digging through the pegs looking for that ONE figure. Trading with your friends. Creating massive battles on the bedroom floor. And somehow turning a handful of toys into an entire universe before Mom yelled that dinner was ready.
