What happens when you call a timeout before the season gets hard?
In this episode of Fourth Quarter Marriage, we’re talking about our recent weekend at FCA Coaches Timeout in Keystone—a weekend designed specifically for coaching couples to step away from the noise, reconnect with each other, and intentionally invest in their marriage and their faith.
We share some of the things that stood out to us from the weekend, including wisdom from Tank and Sarah Ackerman of Live the Life Church, and the practical strategies they shared for communication, connection, and building a stronger marriage.
But more than anything, this weekend reminded us that our marriage needs intentional preparation, too. We spend so much time preparing for football season—practice, schedules, players, game plans—but what are we doing to prepare our marriage for the demands of the season?
This episode is a reminder that a timeout isn't a sign that something is wrong. Sometimes, it's exactly what you need to make sure you're still playing on the same team.
Because the goal isn't just to survive football season together. It's to come out of it with a stronger marriage.
