CHRISTOPHER LIAM ROSE TALKS ABOUT #CLRT - THE SERVANT & THE MASTER (CLRTTSTM)
The Servant & The Master
“The Servant and the Master” can be understood as a relationship between one who serves and one who leads, commands, or possesses authority. Spiritually, it can also represent the relationship between the human being and God, the ego and the higher Self, or desire and wisdom.
1. The Master
The Master represents:
- Authority and leadership
- Wisdom and knowledge
- Direction and purpose
- Discipline and responsibility
- The one who gives instruction or guidance
In a spiritual sense, the Master can symbolise God, Truth, Higher Consciousness, or Divine Wisdom.
2. The Servant
The Servant represents:
- Humility
- Willingness to help
- Commitment and dedication
- Obedience to what is right
- Compassion and service to others
Being a servant does not necessarily mean being inferior. True service can be an expression of strength, humility and love.
3. The Spiritual Meaning
The relationship can be understood as:
The Master provides the direction; the Servant puts that direction into practice. For example, if wisdom is the Master, then action becomes the Servant. Wisdom tells you what is right, while service expresses that wisdom through your behaviour.
4. The Paradox
There is an important spiritual paradox:
The greatest Master may become the greatest Servant.
A genuine leader does not simply demand service from others. They can lead through serving others. This is particularly associated with the teachings and example of Jesus, where leadership is connected with humility and service.
5. The Inner Master & Inner Servant
You can also look at this psychologically:
Master = higher wisdom, awareness and consciousness
Servant = thoughts, emotions, body and actions
The goal is not necessarily to destroy the “servant,” but to bring your actions into alignment with your deepest wisdom.
In simple terms:
The Master knows the way.The Servant walks the way.
The Master gives wisdom.
The Servant embodies wisdom.
True mastery expresses itself through service.
This connects strongly with “Know Thyself,” selflessness, spiritual silence and the idea that the teacher and the taught are not ultimately separate.
