Lisa Massey calls herself a fourth-generation working mom, a third-generation healthcare professional, a second-generation entrepreneur, and a first-generation Lisa. In this episode, she and Julie talk about what it takes to become that last one.
Lisa is a physical therapist and the burnout and meaningful movement coach behind Evolving with Motion. She grew up as a three-sport athlete who learned that anger was fair game on the court and sadness made you weak. She carried that rulebook into healthcare, where service earns praise and burnout hides in plain sight. She describes burnout as a fourth-degree burn: at first you stop feeling anything, and when it starts to heal, you feel everything.
Together they explore the beliefs we inherit without ever choosing them, how to borrow courage from people already living the life you want, why a day off can feel harder than a packed schedule, and the difference between your capability and your capacity. Lisa also shares Fancy Drink Friday with her daughter, her emotional support water bottle, and the slow-hurry mantra that changed how she moves through her days.
If you’re a high-achieving woman learning that rest, ease, and peace are safe, this one is for you.
