Broken Crayons WILL Color Chapter 1 | Page 10: The Lie You Believe

    Every wound tells a story.

But not every story tells the truth.

Pain has a way of whispering lies into the places where our hearts are most vulnerable. Over time, those whispers can become beliefs we accept without question.

    "I'm not enough."

    "I'll never be loved."

"I have to earn my worth."

    "I'll always be broken."

"If they knew the real me, they would leave."

What begins as a wound can quietly become an identity if we're not careful.

In Chapter 1, Page 10, we explore how emotional wounds often carry hidden lies that shape our thoughts, our relationships, and the way we see ourselves. Together, we'll begin uncovering those false narratives and making room for truth to take their place.

Healing is more than recovering from what happened.

Healing is refusing to let the wound define who you are.

The pain may have introduced the lie...

But it doesn't get to write the ending of your story.

    Your wounds are real.

    But so is your worth.

Broken Crayons WILL Color. And so do you.

Broken Crayons WILL Color Chapter 1 | Page 9: When God Sits With You

There are moments in life when no words are enough.

    No advice can fix it.
    No explanation can erase it.
No timeline can rush the healing.

And yet... somehow, you're not alone.

In Chapter 1, Page 9, we reflect on the quiet, comforting presence of God—the moments when He doesn't immediately change the situation, but chooses to sit with us in it.

Sometimes we expect God to rescue us from the pain, while He is gently reminding us that He has never left our side. His presence becomes our peace. His love becomes our strength. His silence becomes reassurance that we are seen, known, and deeply loved.

Healing doesn't always happen because our circumstances change.

Sometimes healing begins because we realize we are no longer carrying them by ourselves.

When God sits with you, you discover that His presence is often the answer before the answer arrives.

You don't have to have all the words.
You don't have to have all the strength.
You don't even have to have it all figured out.

Sometimes all you need to do is make room for His presence.

Broken Crayons WILL Color. And through God's grace... so do you.

Chapter 1 | Page 8: The First Tear That Told the Truth

Sometimes, the truth arrives before we have the words to explain it.

It shows up in the tear we tried to hold back. The one that escaped before we could wipe it away, smile through it, or say, “I'm fine.”

    That tear wasn't weakness.

    It was honesty.

In Chapter 1, Page 8, we explore the moment when our emotions finally speak the truth we've carried in silence. The pain we've minimized. The exhaustion we've hidden. The grief we've pushed aside. The feelings we've convinced ourselves we were strong enough to ignore.

Sometimes crying is not falling apart.

Sometimes it is the first sign that we are finally allowing ourselves to feel.

The first tear may not tell the whole story, but it can open the door to the truth. It can remind us that healing does not require us to remain composed, untouched, or unbothered.

Maybe the tear wasn't betraying you.

Maybe it was finally speaking for you.

    Let it fall.

    Let it tell the truth.

Broken Crayons WILL Color. And so do you.

Chapter 1 | Page 7: Outgrowing a Version of Yourself

Growth has a way of changing us—sometimes so gradually that we don't notice it until something that once felt familiar no longer fits.

The people, habits, beliefs, or identities that once defined us may begin to feel too small for the person we're becoming. While growth is something we often desire, it can also bring discomfort, uncertainty, and even grief as we release versions of ourselves that once served a purpose.

In Chapter 1, Page 7, we explore what it means to outgrow an old version of yourself with grace and compassion. Together, we'll reflect on the courage it takes to let go of who we needed to be in order to embrace who we are becoming.

Healing doesn't always look like fixing what is broken.

Sometimes healing looks like becoming someone who no longer carries what once defined them.

    You are allowed to grow.

    You are allowed to change.

    You are allowed to become.

Broken Crayons WILL Color. And so do you.

Broken Crayons WILL ColorChapter 1 | Page 6: The Wound Beneath the Wound

Sometimes the pain we recognize isn't the pain that's been holding us back.

We believe we're grieving a broken relationship, a missed opportunity, a betrayal, or a disappointment. But beneath those experiences often lies a deeper wound—one that's been quietly shaping how we see ourselves, how we trust others, and how we move through the world.

The wound beneath the wound may be rejection hidden beneath heartbreak.

    *Abandonment beneath loneliness.
    *Fear beneath anger.
    *Shame beneath perfectionism.
*Unworthiness beneath the need to prove ourselves.

In Chapter 1, Page 6, we gently explore the layers of emotional pain and invite you to look beyond the surface. Healing isn't always about treating what hurts first—sometimes it's about discovering what has been hurting all along.

True healing begins when we're willing to ask deeper questions, not to relive the pain, but to understand it with compassion and honesty.

The goal isn't to reopen old wounds. The goal is to finally heal the one that's been there all along.

Broken Crayons WILL Color. And so do you.

Broken Crayons WILL COLOR Chapter 1 | Page 5: Stop Pretending

Sometimes the greatest exhaustion doesn't come from what we've been through—it comes from pretending we're unaffected by it.

    We smile when we're hurting.
We say we're fine when we're struggling.
We convince ourselves that being strong means never letting anyone see the pain.

Over time, pretending becomes a habit. We learn how to perform wellness while carrying wounds that still need attention. We become experts at looking okay while quietly falling apart inside.

In Chapter 1, Page 5, we explore the emotional cost of acting unbothered and the freedom that comes from being honest about what we're carrying. Together, we'll examine the masks we wear, the stories we tell ourselves, and the courage it takes to stop pretending.

Healing does not begin when we hide the pain.

Healing begins when we tell the truth about it.

You don't have to prove your strength by suffering in silence.

You don't have to smile through every wound.

You don't have to pretend anymore.

Broken Crayons WILL COLOR. And so do you.

Broken Crayons WILL Color Chapter 1 | Page 4: The Weight We Carry

Not all weight can be seen.

Some of the heaviest things we carry are invisible—expectations, disappointments, unspoken truths, past hurts, responsibilities, and the pressure to keep going when we're already exhausted.

Over time, we become so accustomed to carrying these emotional burdens that they begin to feel normal. We learn to function with them. We adapt to them. We convince ourselves that we're fine.

But emotional weight is still weight.

In Chapter 1, Page 4, we explore the hidden burdens many of us carry and the ways they quietly shape our thoughts, relationships, and well-being. Together, we'll reflect on the expectations we've accepted, the truths we've left unspoken, and the silence we've used to protect ourselves.

Sometimes we don't realize how heavy something has become until we finally set it down.

This page is an invitation to examine what you've been carrying and to consider whether it's time to release what no longer serves you.

You were never meant to carry every burden alone.

Broken Crayons WILL COLOR. And so do you.

Broken Crayons WILL Color Chapter 1 | Page 3: Silence Can Be an Invitation to Heal

In a world filled with constant noise, distractions, and demands for our attention, silence can often feel uncomfortable. We rush to fill empty spaces with conversations, music, work, social media, and endless activity. Yet sometimes, healing begins when we stop running and allow ourselves to be still.

In Chapter 1, Page 3, we explore how silence can become an invitation rather than a punishment. An invitation to listen. An invitation to reflect. An invitation to reconnect with the parts of ourselves that have been overlooked, neglected, or wounded.

Silence has a way of revealing what busyness often hides. It creates space for honesty, clarity, and restoration. While it may not always feel comfortable, it can become one of the most powerful tools in the healing process.

This page encourages us to embrace moments of stillness, not as emptiness, but as opportunities for growth, self-discovery, and renewal.

Sometimes the answers we seek are not found in the noise.

Sometimes they are waiting for us in the silence.

Broken Crayons WILL COLOR. And so do you.
