On this week’s episode of BuildHERS Club, Teresa and Xanica sit down with Heather Ferrier Laminack of Ferrier Homes to talk about breaking barriers and creating space for more women in the building industry.

As the first woman president of the Greater Fort Worth Builders Association and a driving force behind the creation of the Texas Professional Women in Building Council, Heather knows what it means to step into rooms where women haven’t always had a seat at the table. Now serving as the 2026 NAHB Professional Women in Building Council Chair, she’s continuing that work on a national level.

Heather shares her journey growing up in a family of builders, finding her own place in the industry and why leadership is about more than being the first. It’s about making sure you aren’t the last.
