Hello and welcome. I am so excited that you are joining me for another season of my Breaking Out Podcast. I believe this is going to be a year of amazing transformation for so many people. A year where we get closer to God and discover all that He wants for us. One where you no longer have to guess and feel lost but one where you know you are walking hand in hand with the only one who has the answers and knows what your next step is.

It seems like the start of each year is a mixture of both encouragement of a fresh start and looking back. The importance, for me, in looking back is seeing that where I’ve been is not where I want to be. There are things in my life that it’s time to let go of. Some of that is my own need to stay in control of my own life. And I know that God can take care of my life and give me the peace that I desire yet allowing him to do that and trusting him to do that has been a slow process. And because of that, there is an internal struggle of both losing control and the need to gain control. Fully trusting God is an interesting topic for another Podcast but what it reminds me is that I have a lot of work to do in my walk with Him.

My hope for this year's Podcast is to develop a closer relationship with God. One that makes you stop second-guessing where you are headed. One that gives you a clearer path so you can stop feeling stuck in life. One that maybe even gets you excited about facing each new day. But above all, I hope that it gives you the knowledge of how to live in perfect unity with God as the center of your heart and your life.

Do you feel like you talk to God all the time and you never seem to hear anything from Him? What if He is talking to you and you don't know how to hear him? I want to share some insight I received recently.

It's been over a year since I last shared a Podcast. I've been adjusting to a new life in a new state and was waiting on answers about what God wanted me to do next. Do I go back to doing a Podcast, do I pursue music. One thing that was clear, after months of adjusting to a new state and a new city he made it clear that I HAD to share this with you.

I hope that you will be encouraged to listen for how God may be talking to you as well as some new ideas I have about that stubborn, "Who Am I" question we are always asking.

Sometimes life requires a bit of a time out. The world can be overwhelming. It can be hard to hear God's voice in the middle of all the ruckus. In those times, it's important to know that it happens to everyone. It can often be a call to be okay with taking a little time for just you and God. You may be frustrated waiting to hear from Him. You may be confused about what your next steps are in life. You may be angry that He has not revealed answers for you. It can be easy to want to distance yourself when you faced with these challenges. I encourage you to take that time to press into God's promises. I don't know how He does it, but He does amazing things when we trust him during our biggest challenges.

I was at a place of such unimaginable grief during my divorce. I felt that God couldn't possibly love me when I did one of the major things that He tells us not to do. Since that time, God has opened up my heart and mind to His unfailing love. He wants you to embrace Him and find yourself and his promises in your life.

Brick walls, dead end roads, lack of clarity, these things can make you question God's plan for your life or where to head next. They can make it difficult to keep pressing on when you don't even know if you are headed in the right direction. The part of faith that I find the most challenging, is knowing when I'm supposed to press on with something, and when it's time to give it a rest and possibly go on a different path.

Life will take you through a lot of roads and seasons. In todays Podcast, I share some insights I've had while walking through those seasons and how a common theme in my life keeps popping back up sometimes in unexpected ways and why I believe it's important to step out in faith and how best to hear God's voice in your life.

Are you feeling discouraged, anxious, or has depression taken over your life? Are you trying to find hope and don't know how to find it? Life is going to come with some major challenges and it can be hard to see past those to find hope. But God wants to meet you in those times and offer you his hand and his help and provisions. This week I want to share with you Romans 8 and help you in discovering our greatest tool in inviting hope into our lives.

It is a confusing and crazy world we live in. Have you been struggling lately trying to figure out if you should speak up about things going on because you feel a conviction to do so? But you know that by speaking out, you face criticism and those individuals who will hurtfully comment their difference of opinion? I believe God is calling his church to stand up for His truth but there's a right and wrong way to do that. There are times when we need to speak up and there are times when it's best to stay silent.
